That is me just watching the TV though. I think Rafa has scouts or something. Just a rumour I've heard.

I'm not sure how strong Rafa's pulling power is as he'd be competing with the likes of Palace, Everton etc. Most of those clubs are seen as preferable destinations as to us as a newly promoted side so Rafa will have to work some magic. So I can understand if Rafa doesn't manage to sign anyone. As I say I agree with Rafa, January is a tricky market and its difficult to get deals done. You only want to be signing players that you want. So anyone who comes in its because Rafa thinks they will add something and are good value. I know its difficult for fans to swallow this but its the truth, he's not saying it for a laugh.

You've misread. I've said if he spends 20m on a striker that is down to Rafa, no excuses. i.e. don't start saying "yes but we really needed to spend 40m".

If he doesn't manage to sign anyone then that is fair enough, it isn't easy.

You lot keep throwing the ball, I'll keep smashing it out the park, don't worry.

So far you’ve only bunted to first base.

If Rafa is told he can buy a striker for £20M but feels the striker we need and could get get costs £30M and gets the best £20M striker he can, as that’s all he’s allowed to buy, who turns out to be better than what we have but not good enough, how can that be Rafa’s fault?

I think because we all know there are strikers out there for 20m who can do the job we need. People have to remember we are not looking for a top 8 striker. Although Walcott just moved to Everton for 20m.
 
Lets not forget the crow from the masses was keeping Rafa would undoubtedly help us to sign better players despite our budget. Now the crow is we can't because we don't have enough money. Newcastle fans are fickle as ****. They just adjust their arguments depending if they like the guy (Rafa), or hate the guy (Pardew).

No, it makes no sense at all. You never sell your key player in the winter transfer period, certainly not with a week left. Besides, he will be millions more worth after the World Cup, and Van Persie yet has to reach the fitness to play 90 minutes continuously.

You’re absolutely right! For such a big guy like him he’s very agile and fast. You won’t see him miss many one-on-one’s either, he’s lethal in front of goal!

I never rate anyone coming out of the Dutch leagues until they've played 10 games, because the list of failures out of that level is much longer than the success list.

I'm just glad we're looking at a problem area for us, but I would prefer we brought in a pacey striker, not another slow clogger.

For me, I'd put my house on him failing. He's only just hit a decent bit of form, at 27 ffs. Before that he was doing "ok" in the Danish league (!) having failed at both Leverkusen and Koln. It just looks like our "scouts" searched online for top scorers - and I fail to understand how our last two lumps from that league, including LDJ from Feyenoord, haven't set alarm bells ringing.

I'm with you hope I'm wrong but this is ****ing bollox... Please if signed prove me so wrong... I'll back him on the pitch but I'm not expecting much.

All I can see is it’s the 25th Jan tomorrow and these ****wits have managed to sign the sum total of Kenedy on loan. A deal that was reported as done on the 29th Dec in the Mail.
