Gateshead play the way our first team do.

They find a way to do it at that level.

If they can't, then surely there'll be other opportunities for the better players who don't fit, likes of Donaldson, Townsend for example.

Isn't it just natural churn?
Gateshead play the same way as us, many thanks for telling us, yet again. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

The point is, it's not about having to have world beating technical wizards to be able to play that way, which seems to be a suggestion.

Quite a few of them came from city's academy incidentally.

You've missed my point, hey ho, I'll recover and fairly quickly.
Memo to self, subtle doesn't always work, that is all. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

You’ve discovered subtlety? A recent discovery, presumably?

It's an incredibly technical way to play and not all players can do it, as we've seen with our first team. Just my opinion, but I don't think our current reserves are as good as Gateshead and if players are being picked on personality or popularity over technical ability, then the results on the pitch are going to suffer.

We seemed to have missed a bullet, Scott Twine has not featured in Bristol City squad since his first game when he scored against Watford in January, apart from in one game in February he was an unused sub against QPR.

Rather than dodged a bullet, I think we only let it inflect a flesh wound.

He got injured in his opening game for them and hasn't played since, he was nearly brought on in their last game, but then Bristol scored and late on and they decided not to risk him.

I think Carvalho has been largely disappointing, probably not because of his performances (although some really were a bit dull) but likely because of his reputation, ability and hoping to see more. Which probably isn’t fair on him.

But even so, he’s still been about 174.84 times better than Scotty ‘TomDaly’ Twine.

I liked Twine, but he isn't a winger so never really looked great for us. However, we could probably have bought Twine if we don't get promoted. Don't think that's true of Carvalho. Whether we need another another light weight centre mid if not promoted is debatable.

We’ve got Omur now who’s arguably better than both.

I can never tell when you're on the wind up but your obsession and fixation on that event for Twine is rather strange. Players like Tufan have dived or cheated more blatantly and regularly.

What is consistent end product for Omur? Do you mean scoring his you tube goals here? I’d like them , but what I see is a very very good intelligent player who plays well with his colleagues all over the pitch . The last match he took a difficult ball above waist height and laid it off under pressure to another as a one touch . In the Brum match he ran 60 yds back to tackle and cover for Coyle - who shook his hand for doing it . He had a great link up touch - but yes some more shots on target would be good .

I've wondered about this for a while but was unsure whether it's some strange joke going over my head since it is Bob after all. Glad someone else has asked.
