Tufan has showed his class most times he’s been on the pitch. He was unreal at the start of the season just about every game and usually looks a cut above with some of his touches and passes.

Slater has played about double the amount of minutes, and how often do attacks break down when the ball gets to him in and around the box. I like slater, every team needs those kind of busy bodies in it, but he’s limited and I would be shocked if he goes on to have half the career Tufan has had. Comparing him to Tufan is like comparing Allahyar to KLP if you ask me. Plus Tufan has a better haircut.

Slater has played more minutes because he contributes more to the team in a variety of roles. When he's been asked to play a more attacking role he contributes with goals or assists more often than not.

I find it strange posters saying Tufan doesnt fit the team and is best coming off the bench. Look at how much the team and defence have improved now that McLoughlin is playing every game instead of bench warming. Maybe its a financial thing. I just hope that should we not get the targets of the club, we dont waste the money in another Woods desperation signing when we could have had say Tufan...

Tufan doesn't have the pace or fitness to play 90 which is why he's better off the bench when he can have maximum impact at the end of games like his Sunderland equaliser

There was one game ( I think it was against Bury - or it might have been Leyton Orient - at home) where Billy had been knocking their centre halves around all afternoon. We were 1-0 up with about 5 minutes left. Tony Norman booted the ball upfield and the two centre halves parted like the red sea to let Billy have a clear run on goal - he duly smashed it home and we won 2-0.
We went up that season from the old Div. 4 (League 2 as it is now)
Great days

I wouldn't look to much into it ( unless there's recent injuries to the squad )
Surely if he had come on he would have been ineligible for us as you can't play for more than two clubs in one season? EFL rules say "In accordance with FIFA Regulations a Player may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in official matches for two clubs."

Forget that, for some reason I thought he'd just been recalled from loan at Charlton. Wrong Palace player?

I haven't seen a single person suggest he should be replaced?

Absolutely, I support any player on the field and would be delighted to see Oscar prove to be a top player for City. I just find it unlikely from what I have seen to date that he will score too many more this year and I think Rosenior will already be lining up an experienced Champ striker. He is giving 100% for the cause and has managed to bundle the ball in the net a few times so I am obviously a fan of his as I was Tom Eaves but it doesnt mean I think Tom Eaves is the man to take us to the right end of the table.

That just says he expects anther striker to be signed, not that Oscar should be replaced.

You didn't read the conversation, that's fine. He said he doesn't rate him and Rosenior will likely be lining someone up who can perform. I don't think he's doing so to line him up next to Oscar in the line up.

Rosenior coming out and saying he's desperate to keep Oscar says otherwise, just found the timing of the comments funny after yesterday's discussion.

Here's further context for you:

Not in the slightest, I am saying that in my opinion Oscar is a pretty average player and has had a fair bit of fortune to have 11 goals in 23 games. People seemed to be suggesting he is something special, I disagree. He was a free transfer for a reason. I've said before Acun spunked money on several players we did not need and probably should have gone for some proven Championship players including a striker. If Oscar scores 20+ goals then I will have been proven wrong, it is no big deal just an opinion I just think he has had an awful lot of luck.

He’s a better footballer technically, just compare some of Abel’s finishes to Oscar’s

Abel could do everything Oscar does however Oscar would struggle to do some of the things Abel did

Just a reminder of how good he was -

Enjoyed that

Funny timing but we did discuss Hernandez v Oscar on the podcast yesterday and my co-host said it's impossible to say because they're such different players. It's an interesting discussion to be had, but one you probably need to wait until the end of the season for Oscar's verdict.

None of our 3 managers have played him in his natural position. His quality isnt in doubt hence playing him forward in less critical areas but I don't think anyone would seriously advocate putting him next to Seri.

He can earn his coin as an impact sub here or we get the lions share or our investment back, but we have to replace our 2nd top scorer/impact sub in the process or it wont be worthwhile.
But yet Woods, who isn't particularly mobile and doesn't really tackle much, is put next to Seri?

Not recently, perhaps Rosie has given up on the idea.
For pretty much all but the past 2 games.
Irrespective, given that Woods has been playing there, it pretty much invalidates the argument that Tufan couldn't. Imo Tufan should have been way ahead of Woods for that position.
Hopefully Doc now grows into the role (at least until we finally buy the sort of player in that role that we need).

The 2 games that we've won, which is why I think perhaps he's changed his approach.

I think Woods is more mobile than Tufan anyway.

Rosenior made the change (Doc for Woods) BEFORE we won those games. He isn't Mystic Meg. The change helped lead to wins, not the other way round, and I guess he'll now likely stick with it (unless there's a new signing for that position coming in).

I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks Woods is more mobile than Tufan.

I'm aware. I'm saying he clearly tweaked the side and it has worked, so he'll likely stick with it. I didn't think it was that complicated a point.
