I don't want to send the thread off topic, but my point is simply that when someone said Leicesteristan. I'll sort of accept the argument that this is in a way using the -stan countries as an insult, but when people suggest that's racial hatred. Hatred. Does that word not seem quite strong to you? It pisses everyone off that such a daft joke is taken as 'hatred' by people.
If it wasn't race related people would ignore it. No one complains when fans of the two clubs call each other ******ed, gay, or whatever other insults are used but it's the exact same thing - a daft joke with no actual meaning behind it. Loads of groups are sterotryped in different ways but people only get silly about it when it's race, and only certain races. (i.e Jew is a perfectly acceptable insult but if black or muslim were used there'd be hell to pay) It's pathetic.
