Surely this 'unsettling' a player tactic would only work if the team looking to unsettle where actually in a better position then the players current club. Never heard of a player playing for a promotion chasing side being unsettled by mid table dross such as leicesteristan.

Thats's right.....unless special circumstances prevail.

Not wanting to sound overly PC or anything but do we have to use Leicesteristan? It's really quite pathetic and makes us look like a bunch of racist morons. And despite what people claim and before they go into terminology of what 'istan' literally translates as, in this context it is racist - you're using a term to insult a place on the premise that it has a large ethnic minority population and for that reason alone is worse.

It's not used to be racist, it's used because it winds them up and as they refer to us on their board as Dull ****ty, I've little sympathy.

do we give a ==ck about anything which upsets lestawhatever-i surely don't---let them try to buy and then be denied---i love it--do the lester twerps--how did they feel when sharp declined them

i dont see why any offer would unsettle a player ,
If he wants to go the move will happen , if he wants to stay the move wont happen .
Its really as simple as that , so i dont get why people claim it to be some mindgame masterstroke from "el mardy bum"

He never made speculation on his targets as a tiger (unlike cheeky comments from NB).

That's a myth, see my above post.

No club would turn down that much money. It's a crazy offer that wouldn't come again. We could replace him and still be £4m up. All speculation though because they can't offer enough to make it worth selling.

I'm actually with Tickler on this. The Allams spent over £40m on us out of their back pocket, another £6m wouldn't make a difference to us at all it'd just be a number in a bank that we don't spend. NB has got money to spend but doesn't want to, the £6m almost certainly wouldn't be used for re-investment on the pitch so it'd almost certainly make our team worse.

In answer to Proud Fox's question I really don't know what I'd say his genuine value is. He's an amazing young defender, you really can't believe how good his tackling is until you see it every week, he's definitely PL quality and I'll be surprised if he isn't playing there next year. I'd say he's good enough to play for England one day. Whatever his actual value is, I would hope we don't sell him for that because his worth to our team and the way our club works at the moment makes it pointless selling him at all. It would definitely weaken us.

There's a pretty big difference between making a jovial, crap pun and racial hatred. There is no hatred in this thread, so unfortunately the PC brigade will have to find something else to be condescending about.

Might I suggest that Hull City Online would be a better place for you to share your thoughts. I'm pretty sure the subjects and moderation you would find there would be more akin to your own value-set.

Just a thought.

I think it's fairly justified to be condescending to people who use the term 'the PC brigade' in the context you've used it and think that the Istan suffix used on these boards is simply a jovial crap pun. But thats just my opinion. The suffix of 'istan' on the end of a place is put there to suggest a negative connotation of a place having a high population of people of asian origin. It's often been used on these boards in arguments with Leicester fans, to suggest that Leicester is a ****hole or somehow a lesser place than somewhere that doesn't have people of ethnic origin living in it.

I don't want to send the thread off topic, but my point is simply that when someone said Leicesteristan. I'll sort of accept the argument that this is in a way using the -stan countries as an insult, but when people suggest that's racial hatred. Hatred. Does that word not seem quite strong to you? It pisses everyone off that such a daft joke is taken as 'hatred' by people.

If it wasn't race related people would ignore it. No one complains when fans of the two clubs call each other ******ed, gay, or whatever other insults are used but it's the exact same thing - a daft joke with no actual meaning behind it. Loads of groups are sterotryped in different ways but people only get silly about it when it's race, and only certain races. (i.e Jew is a perfectly acceptable insult but if black or muslim were used there'd be hell to pay) It's pathetic.

It's just so lacking in wit it is embarrassing.

Like I say, if you're embarrassed perhaps you'd be better off elsewhere.

This is a football message board, not a church, anyone referring to Leicester as Leicesteristan is breaking no law either social or moral. Instead of preaching to others how they communicate with third parties why not just move on, then everyones happy.

So youre saying everyone who disagrees with what someone says should 'move on'. Using that logic and the fact you disagree with me over this, shouldn't you move on?

Fook it then, let's break every taboo - so who do we want to win the this weekends big tie: Thejamesbulgeranditalianfanmurderers or Themoorsmurderers?

What a myopic way you have of seeing the world.

It is YOU that have accused me of racist comments, which is completely false, and it's not even been said to you, it has nothing to do with you whatsoever and yet you are telling me how I should post on this board. I have no interest at all in what you say, but if I did I might argue points with you but I would not be so pompous as to tell you how you should post. That is not my decision to make, but if I did have a problem with it I would either complain to the moderators about you or I would add you to the ignore list.

Now this is boring me so add me to your ignore list so you won't be upset and I won't waste my time telling you stuff you should already know.

Yeah that's true. It's not as bad as Dull though. (It rhymes with Hull you see <laugh>)

Either way, regardless of the level of humour involved, everything doesn't have to be racist. I can't understand why some people get pleasure out of desperately searching for hate in other people's comments. I feel like I can't say muslim any more it's become such a taboo to even talk about certain groups. Insanity.

It's alright lads, they did indeed change the article on the back of the Mercury, it was all about Wes Morgan. Then, just before the end of the article, a small paragraph stating that NP was after JACK Chester. So it looks like we're alright. We don't have anybody by that name here. Although it wouldn't surprise me if NP still bid £6m for him.

seen as tho NP has put bids in for wes morgan and aparently ant gerrard the bid for chester is purely an effot to unsettle him witch wont work with all of the city players already stateing that they signed a contract to Hull City not nigel pearson. its about time he got on with his own failing club and left the mighty tigers alone. UTT!!!!

Has there actually been any confirmation of a real bid for Chester?

Mercury reporter leaks it
Mail steals the story
Mercury reporter withdraws it
Sky see the story in the Mail
Sky bases an amount for the bid on the two confirmed bids we had for Stewart.
