Foden's had what, three days off? Still gets in.

Southgate's like the prototype robot in Westworld who keeps living the same day over and over again.
Best player last 2 games. Why drop him? Bellingham has been awful except for the first 20 first game. Kane utterly awful, Trippier, Saka etc etc. Not sure why you single out Foden and the rest are ignored!

Each to Their own I Suppose

Personally speaking, I think this season has caught up with Jude. Remember those match threads when it was said the Jobe needed to be benched cos it was his first full season and he looked better coming on as a sub? This has been Jude's first full season with Madrid where he has led that team from the front, it's bound to have had an effect.

Any squad player must travel with the squad knowing they have zero chance of playing under Gareth. What was the point in even picking Wharton when he picks Gallagher and even played Trent out of position infront of him in CM.?
Convinced Toney is there for a penalty shootout and that’s it, can’t say he can’t replace Phillips when he’s got Wharton and mainoo in the squad either

I just don't understand the thought process. Kane, Foden, Jude and now Mainoo all want to play in the same area on the pitch. Where's the balance? Naglesmann said he played Sané instead of Wirtz because it gave them more balance and speed in the side, we could do that by playing Gordon instead of Jude/Foden. Then Wharton, for me, is a better option for this team in midfield than Mainoo.

I single him out because he's never done anything of note in an England shirt while the rest you mentioned have, and he's probably more talented than all of them.

The sooner we accept he just can't do it at this level, the sooner we can look more balanced.

The fact he even said that in the first place confirms everything we already know about him really

Coward of a bloke, hoping the talent in the squad is enough to take us through

Every Boro fan i know hated him as a manager, hes got to where he is now from being a YES man. He didn't even do anything special with England U21s either, he's a lucky lucky man to be managing England

I never understand comments like this. He's clearly not a coward. He went out and performed in front of thousands of people every weekend for 2 decades. Now he's in the most high pressure job in football and he's doing what he thinks is right. The cowardly thing to do would be to pick all the players that the media and internet warriors shout and scream for despite not agreeing with it.

Coward is probably harsh, I’ll meet you at overly cautious :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Yeah good point to he fair mate, coward probably is abit of a harsh word.
I think what he means is he just sticks with the same team every game and it doesn't matter how bad of a game big players like Kane and Jude have theyll still be guaranteed to play the following match. This is mainly down to Gareth being inept of having a plan B, and not being a coward.
Hes got a squad of 25, but only about 16 of them ever play.

Yeah that was what I was meaning, been out 5 hours so spouting ****e, apologies, it’s still coming home with or without Gareth

Southgate def taking a massive risk sticking with the same team every game (rotating CMs the only change)

Itll go 2 ways:
Theyll finally click and put in a good performance as theyve adjusted to how to play with each other or
Theyll go out on the back of a poor performance as they dont click into shape

Id always rather a manager that changes things up so be interesting to see if sticking to the plan works for southgate

The third way is scraping through with a poor performance ...

... that's how it usually happens
