Elmo, Meyler, Diame when fit.
Elmo - He's a wing-back.
Meyler - Not as good as Quinn.
Diame - So, never then.
To conclude, we don't have a better midfielder than Quinn.

He said midfielder, not central midfielder and by the way half the so called footie transfer links have Quinn down as a winger. How many times did Elmo play central midfield last season, or any ****ing season for that matter!
Diame always injured and is likely to leave when fit, as already indicated.
Meyler is at best equal to Quinn.
Smartarse my arse!

So because a player is injured, his career is over then? Silly ****.
Pre season training starts on Monday & we have not signed a single player. All I'm seeing is players leaving/stating they want to leave. Only Huddlestone has declared his intention to stay. I'm starting to feel that City have absolutely no chance of bouncing straight back to The Premiership with the players we will have left combined with the very worrying lack of anyone credible coming in. Bruce's record in the transfer market really is hit & miss.
Have Bruce & Phelan got some recruitment master plan they are keeping very close to their chests ?????
Summary:
We have now had 82 pages of utter tosh and drivel.
We haven't sold anyone, we haven't signed anyone. Some of our released players may or may not have found clubs elsewhere.
Hope this is helpful to those who can't be bothered to read all of this thread?
DittoI feel like half the posts in this thread have been similar to what you've posted, so thanks for adding further to the length.
Some right bollocks posted on here about Quinn, I'd end up doing a Tickler-esque multi-quote if I tried to respond to it all.
He was easily in our top three players in the promotion season, yet he's an average Championship player?
Ramirez may well be a better player technically than Quinn, but he certainly never showed it for us. Quinn didn't get a look in until the end of the season, despite everyone who played ahead of him looking like a bag of ****e. When he did play, he looked better than them all.
He got more assists than Huddlestone, Ramirez, Ben Arfa, Meyler, Diame or Livemore. That is to say, he got more assists than any of our other midfielders, despite playing a fraction of the games that some of them did. Only Diame scored more goals from midfield as well.
We don't have a single midfielder who I would take over Quinn in the Championship. Anyway, for his three years and almost 100 appearances for Hull City I thank Quinniesta. Bruce couldn't replace him with cash to burn, Premier League and European football last season, and I suspect he won't in the second tier with significantly less money either.
Yet again we seem to have confusion over what a wing- back is, a defender or a midfielder. Elmo is not a defender and he is not an attacker, I'll leave the rest to you. Is one of you, Steve Bruce, by any chance?

Andre Gray would be a good signing.
So would Craig Gardner.
At least we're being linked with decent players.
