I'm afraid that's simply not true. Both have done a good job for us and both are decent defenders, but neither have yet matched the performances of Turner(though Chester might well do).
Dont begrudge you in the slightest dear boy. Good luck in Jan with whatever over inflated fees you end up paying. NP did a great job @ Hull binning the deadwood and bringing in better and far more talented players. But he has not the skill or nouse to improve them WHERE AS NICK BARMBY HAS, so i am glad NP left. Whilst I don't agree with the almost derogotary way in which you've mentioned McLean, I certainly agree with that last part. NP found us some great defenders and midfielders, but none of his striking buys have been quite right. I agree with the first bit of this, but I think the arguments against signing Turner are pretty valid. He wouldn't be prepared to sit on the bench, and Chester and Hobbs don't want dropping now. I'm also not sure I agree that Turner is better than those two, having been injured for so long while Hobbs and Chester have been playing every week forming a great partnership. we'd probably be better off sticking with those two even if we did sign him.

Any truth at all in the story about Sharp having a release fee of £1.85 million (that becomes active soon)? If it is true, it sort of scotches all the cr*p from CI about a 'done deal' between us and Donny for £3M imo. And surely most other stories about pending £3M bids and upwards from other clubs .......?
