I dont think AP ruled out the possibility of Billy Sharp.
He doesn't want to get people's hopes up as a lot of clubs are in for him. There will be enquiries made if they already haven't.
 
According to that Transfer Talk guy, Leicester are set to make an improved double bid for Stewart and Chester, which will be rejected
 
Sharp believed to have a £1.85 million buy out clause in his Contract which came effective from 1st Jan if TRUE then this makes the talk of £3 million plus, smoke,red herrings or Bull5hit

so it appears Yes he does. its interesting that billy sharp has given an interview in the media today saying that he wont just leave doncaster for anyone. it has to be the right club and for the right reasons. plus he is in no rush to leave and it maybe towards the end of the window before he does leave doncaster. speculation will reach feever pitch the longer this goes on. just saying like.

not looking good for lesta at the moment. bid rejected by donny from lesta on friday and now hull have rejected lesta for stewart. will NP ever learn or does he enjoy being embarressed all the time ? lmao.
 
Call me a pasty but what AP said meant to me that we are very much interested in signing Billy Sharp and it was an invitation to read between the lines and he's showing that we want him. Sounds more like he's playing it down for some reason or other, which would make sense if it was a quiet deal but the whole world knows he's available and half the league are after him so can't see how keeping schtum would affect this one. Maybe just so the supporters aren't let down if we fail to acquire him?

Personally I'd rather we be in for Billy Paynter

Although it does sound like the kind of maximum offer we would make. The feeling at the club is that £3M is over the odds.

obviousy thats what barmby has done as well, scapegoated him, or maybe just saw what we all did, that somebody who cant control a ball is no use in the squad.
