This was always going to be one of two things for some people.
A) They'll close ranks and no one will go in the stocks
B) They'll find a patsy to put the blame on
Either way, in the minds of some, the entire club has to be totally to blame for eternity, for what they think was an international scandal and disgrace ...
... it's not except in their minds, 99.9% of tge world barely noticed and it's never been mentioned again.
The fact that an employer isn't entitled to sack someone for stupidity, or pillory them in public, seems irrelevant. Paying to go to the theatre doesn't entitle you to have someone named and shamed if the show goes wrong ...
... going to watch a football match is no different.
