It probably did to the lads on here who read it.It helps that the signs look like they were knocked up by a six year old in art class
“Keep the B&W flying high” barely makes sense

So it was all pre planned and all new about it ????
Whether you agree with the decision to give them 6000 tickets and fleece them for 600 a pop to have a few ales is neither here nor there. The commercial dept obviously saw it as an opportunity to make the club some money. I personally think having 6000 scum in our ground adds to the occasion and it will be even sweeter when we beat them. The signage isn't a great look for the club but the Mags are paying for it and we took the decision to avoid them coming to the BCB and destroying it. It was probably a decision that was done with best intentions that has.sadly backfired. Some poor bugger is now going to get sacked because of this almighty pile on. It's a mistake but folk.really need to stop being so bloody entitled and precious and get over it.What about if they knew all along and are just covering arse now due to the outrage ?
Just read the Mail story.
Now I'm in agreement that whoever the "senior figures" are, should be punished. I won't go as far as saying should lose their jobs as its not clear how senior these senior figures are. If it was the Catering Director for example, somebody earning like £40k per year, I wouldn't want to see them lose their job over it. But if the senior figure is Davison or Bruce, they should be sacked. Absolutely.
Keith is saying that "Sunderland expected it to be neutral" but Hope is saying somebody internal and senior signed off on it. I doubt either are lying. So I reckon we have some problems internally with people not being aligned on whats appropriate.
I would expect someone to loose their job no matter how much there on....if your on 40k.... surely your not this thick
It’s on sky nowMy own opinion is that KLD probably knew of the cover up of our memorabilia because if they lose the game it’ll get trashed. Fair enough.
The rumours about the BCB being “redecorated” were probably what he understood to be removed/covered up so maybe didn’t expect anything other than just that. Someone within the club has authorised them to come in and do it themselves and they’ve taken the p*ss. The slogans are just our own but they’ve been doctored, ie “we are we are wearside” has had a United placed over the wearside.
My honest opinion. I'm disappointed this has been allowed to happen and questions rightly need asking.
However.
This all needs parking up until after tomorrow. We can all argue, cry, shout what ever we feel like after tomorrow has finished. No doubt the scum will be using the feedback on social media as ammo "keep them quiet the crowd will turn" etc.
We all have a job tomorrow to do the exact opposite and back the lads more than ever. Something I am confident will happen.
Pitchforks, apologies etc can wait imo
I'm not into demanding "ordinary" people lose their jobs without knowing all of the context though, and we never will.
People in public facing leadership positions are different, rightly or wrongly. But behind the scenes ordinary folk, I'll let the internal investigation decide.
The club have apparently denied the Mags permission to do this.Have all the protesters realised that 6000 Mags can bring enough flags and banners to totally cover the BCB and the away end ... with or without permission.
And if they do put up flags and banners in the BCB how many people think they should be ripped down?
The club have apparently denied the Mags permission to do this.
Weirdly that’s not really been reported on or acknowledged by our fans.
That's not how knee jerking works mate.Has anyone considered what was signed off, wasnt what the scruffy tossers were adhering to?
All this reminds me of my time working as a train announcer at Kings Cross in 1979, a new platform staff information system was being installed to display on big yellow monitors at the end of each platform. The installer asked me to put up a test message so I simply put “ Sunderland for the cup”, a few minutes later I had a call saying that several passengers from the toon had managed to find the station managers office to request that the offensive message be taken down, can’t do it I said it’s stuck.
I did not get fired.

That is where I am at with it mate. In the past now KLD responded quickly and I will let them resolve it internally as to who knew, if any one did. If anyone on our side knew this was happening then they can sort the appropriate punishment behind closed doors. Tomorrow is game time and that is what matters now. This farce wont impact the players or coaches, and will have no impact on the result. Good mix of mags and lads down here and I am getting the expected abuse from the mags about it. I have more mud to hoy their way though, and they know it. Now if we win tomorrow I will be on their case for months about it. If they win they will get bored / angry with my responses after a day or too.It shouldn't have happened but did.
KLD has said he accepts personal responsibility.
No doubt internal processes will be followed which we won't be privy to (nor should we be).
We can either move on and get into the black and white bastards or continue to be a bit precious about the whole thing.
