I said before the meeting that people had the wrong idea about it's purpose.

Assem Allam was going through due process as part of the operation to change the club name. No more no less.

Which specific process are you testing against?

Is it just me that's really begining to despise the man? And that's not right after all he's done.

But these latest comments clearly show he has been lying all along with his preposterous 'local name, international name' bollocks and he's just doing what the **** he wants, when he wants and doesnt give two ****s about fans or the rules of governing bodies.

I actually hate him as he continues to make David Lloyd look increasingly like Harold Needler by comparison.

It really is a worry to all football fans.

The next thing will be renaming football clubs after sponsors. I know Red Bull sponsor New York and Saltzberg.

He's gone down in my estimations.

The initial suggestion dampened our achievements on the pitch for me.

All this will come to a head in the summer. Hopefully, he can redeem himself.

I agree wholeheartedly, unfortunately. The man should be the most revered in our history but is turning us into a laughing stock throughout football. He mentioned that AFC could go because we never use it in chants or songs, if City goes what the hell else is left?

IF AA has broken or is preparing to break FA rules , what is the likely punishment - i can only think whatever it it , it will affect the club . . . again !

If that was the aim, it failed miserably.

The FA require a 'fan consultation' to at least include all season ticket holders, twelve invited guests come nowhere near a consultation.

They're not helping themselves with this news.

They won't want to piss off the fans any further, but no doubt they will. Especially, with Duffen hanging around the club.

If he's Thompson's replacement then the Allam's really are slitting their own throats.

If the FA thing is the main tool, why didn't CTWD tell Allam at the meeting "Look, we are willing to ask nicely for you not to change the name, but if you do, then we are going to take it up with the FA". Why all this faffing around with profit motives?

Ultimately, Allam is a multi-millionaire businessman, and in most cases you have to be an arsehole to be a multi-millionaire businessman.

I find it hard to believe that Allam is not motivated by profit, and that he merely wants to stabilize the club or whatever - he wants to make money out of this. If that means sacking a fan favourite in a ****ty way, he will do it. If that means taking the stadium into private ownership, he will do it. If that means moving the club out of the City, he will do it. And if it means changing the name, he will do it.

There wouldn't be any daft penalities like a points deduction or whatever would there? I imagine some pretty hefty fines?

he'll live with that, it's a temporary thing he can dispute.

The prospect of Hull City changing their name to Hull Tigers in the new year is a worrying thought for ALL fans.

from a BBC man I think that sounds like an acceptance comment.

I think you'll find he's breached FA rules and that's something they can definitely do something about.

do you believe his cronies have not already sounded that one out?

This is a prime example of the difficulty in communicating with Assem Allam.

you communicate with him when he wants it and on his terms; but the real words are unspoken.

Anyone who thought any other was deluded. It was not the whole consultation, but certainly a big opening gambit.

All of this. While the marchers were putting on their scarves and badges, while the campaign meetings were being publicized, while the talk of plans A, B and C was being made, AA just had PLAN A - LOSE THE CITY PART OF THE NAME.

Like I said. A needed, but futile campaign IMO.

He won't have a clue what FA rules are, he thinks he can do anything he likes, but he can't.

If I were you I wouldn't cling on too desperately to the hope that the FA will be our knight in shining armour. The score so far is Premier League 10, FA Nil !!

It saddens me to say this but this was always going to end in tears. I don't know who will win and I fear that everyone will lose.
