You said when olm posted the ****ng inflammatory bollocks that all the squad were up for sale it's true cos he said it. People have agendas young man you will leArn this as you mature
I still believe that was probably true at the time. He cancelled Chesters new contract talks at that time and was on a massive looney episode like he is now. He sacked everyone off the pitch that summer so why is it hard to believe he tried to do the same with the players? OLM was more in the know at that time than he is now even.
I've just read the transcript of that ITV interview and suddenly I get where all of this is going to, from AA's perspective. Although he continually trips himself up in that interview he is INSISTENT that he is NOT changing the name, that he is merely shortening it. It matters not to him that people keep on attempting to point out to him that shortening the name IS actually changing it, he simply blusters his way through that with his 'it's a free country' stuff. In essence I honestly think that he thinks that if he can convince enough people that he's simply shortening the name, NOT changing it, that won't HAVE to apply to the FA as he is not actually changing the name, or if he did apply then the FA would simply see it as a shortening of the name. Why else would he insist that he's NOT changing the name but simply shortening it, when Hull City Tigers is actually doing the reverse, and lengthening the name? I'm losing the will to live...
Look back in amber - I think you're reading into things a tad too much. Sit back, pipe in hand, slippers on, feet in front of the fire and watch the carnage unfold. The will to live will return mate.
I think he is looking at dropping the City bit though. When he has consulted his expert self about whether it will work or not!!
Do you think AA is morphing into some sort of Sméagol/Gollum creature ? It's his Gollum personality that is driving the name change and is now the dominant personality. 'Hull Tigers' being 'His Precious'. If he starts calling Bruce a 'Fat Hobbit' we'll know we're in trouble.
To be quite honest I'm at the point where I couldn't give a toss either way, good enough for Steve Bruce, good enough for me. If the name changes then I'm pretty certain that it will be changed back again at some point in the future. Unless of course it DOES go on to make us all of those gazillions that the good Doctor supposes it will, then there would be obvious carnage if a group dared to campaign to change it back. Oh, and one other thing, if the name was changed, at least we wouldn't get call Hull ****ty anymore, obviously there would still be Dull Tigers
But if we don't have City in the name, what would we sing? AA was right when he said we don't use AFC in chants, but if we don't use City there's not a lot left!
This could be the final fruition of my dream that we sing and act out Mauled every time we score. Imagine how amazing that'd be! Unique too!
