Granted, but sitting out a 1-0 defeat at home is unlikely to reap much reward from what I can gather either. Pushing up gives you the greater chance of scoring. Damned if you do, damned if you don't really.
Given that I'm stuck at work, I'd quite happily be commentating on the match right now.

So Matic is sitting on top of Sterling with his legs wrapped round him not getting up.... and the ref plays an "Advantage" of Makovic v 3 Chelsea defenders out wide 
You can go forward without leaving massive gaps at the back though, you just need to avoid over committing

We're Liverpool, we struggle to defend and not leaves gaps when defending a 1-0 lead let alone pushing for an equaliser at 1-0 down

You wouldn't be accusing us of tactical naivity would you Tobes? Perish the thought...
We also have a habit of leaving massive gaps at the back even when not pushing forward.
Don't worry lads. Pascoe is currently creating the most brilliant tactical shift to ever grace this stadium and win us the game 
If Sturridge was on we'd be right in this. I think we've played good, all puff at the moment though..
