Yeah i get that, unfortunately theres a chance thatll happen but suppose he has to go out n try to make it

He seems to have the menalitity needed to make it - think his big thing is trying to focus on 1 position only and become the best he can at that position, thatll stand him in a better stead to play regularly in senior football

My mates sunday league team had an ex sunderland player playing for them this season (only 6 or 7 games) - he was only released by us when we got promoted to the Championship so shows how tough it is for players to make it
I've seen lads drop out of pro clubs and turn up in non-league. Those with poor attitudes ("I'm too good for this", "I should walk into your side") towards it almost always continue to drop through the leagues. The ones that do get back to the pro game tend to be the ones that realise that they have to work hard, have a good attitude, listen to advice and criticism from their coaches. Doesn't happen for all of them, no where near, but it can happen if they approach it the right way.

Like you say, mentality would appear to be the key. They can't rely solely in innate ability.

Really, you'd think that would be obvious.

Really enjoyed the post match interview with Murty. You could feel the emotion and the pride. Our young lads are in good hands.
Agreed, excellent interview. Says that he can give the tools to the players to do well but it's up to them to do it on the field. That the adversity they came through, and the will to never give up, will stand them in good stead for the future. Also, the inner well of belief to look to when things aren't going right.

I've thought for a while that the academy does well to move players up age groups to challenge them. Keep setting tougher goals and it will hopefully help more to make the grade at the best level they can. These play off games will be brilliant for the development of these lads. Worth 20 x regular U21 games.

That's got to be streamed with proper comms etc. Especially in a stadium like that.

Get Frankie and Danny down there.

Have you ever been in a stadium like this Danny.........<diva>

Got my tickets :emoticon-0103-cool:

I tried to get a flight to Stansted from Edinburgh but the cost is too much with a hotel, etc ...

... the mate I had, with various flats in London, is in prison for fraud <laugh>

Edit - He's a nice lad btw, just rented out flats he was only supposed to be a keyholder for. They're lovely places bought as investments by wealthy foreigners. It was a victimless crime, he even paid the electric bills!

Could he not get you into a cell for the night?
Seriously, no wonder prisons are overcrowded if they’re putting people away for this.
