Green Dragon is very ancient and atmospheric and there used to be a coaching inn type thing with latticed leaded windows(?) up near the market cross which used to be OK. The Cross Keys, near the market cross
Green Dragon is fantastic. Food is fantastic, and as long as the weather is good, the beer garden is brilliant, with their beer festivals and such. Yea, that pub is the Cross Keys. Went in their the first time we moved to Wymondham. Was dead, with old men sat on their own drinking at the bar. Smelt all musty. We walked straight out again.
I'm going back 20-25 years All this talk of pubs and ale. I'm off to the Red Lion to watch the tide recede.

I put this up more out of a sense of wonderment and disbelief than anything. 10 places in Paris where you can eat (properly) for 10 euros!! I like the sound of the last one, ravioli with rocket pesto - but they all sound decent / good. https://www.theguardian.com/travel/...twt_a-travel_b-gdntravel#link_time=1474697911
Dairylea reminds of schoolkids lunchboxes, in those little triangle shapes! Had you said extra mature Gouda or something my eyes would have widened slightly more.
Was going to put this on the 'beer and chips' thread...but I can't find it? I checked the first 6 pages and gave up, must have been deleted / removed Anyway, I got to go to Nodge early on Monday, but the stupid X44 buses from here mean either cutting it very fine or having an hour+ to spare. So I thought of a fry up and mug of tea in the Moonlight Café opposite Anglia Square. Googled it and BOOM my old friends the fry-up police have done a top drawer review, with photos, etc How comprehensive is this, would you say? http://fryupsgoodornot.blogspot.co.uk/2011/01/moonlight-cafe-norwich.html
Used to be Pats cafe set back in layby? I used to use that very frequently if it's the same one you mean.
Tried a "Chinese fruit" for lunch. I think it was called a "Pomelo" Suppose to be a cross between an orange and a grapefruit. I don't think it was ripe/past it's best. The skin and pith, was like insulation! Felt like White foamy plastic. The inside was soooo dry and hard. No juice to it. it was wrank!
It took fricking ages, and ours didn't look like that inside! That looks like a juicy blood orange!, ours was hard, dry and a really pale yellow/white.
