Bought a slow Cooker the other week. Best thing I've impulse bought in ages. Especially for winter!

    Stews, Casseroles, Tagines...

Also, can prep the night before with my gf, so I don't have to prep and cook every meal. Been so nice. Every meal has been stunning.

    Ah!

    <applause>

We are loving this slow cooker! We are doing meals we would only ever cook at the weekend, so special occasion meals. We are now having them 2 or 3 days in the week. Don't know why I was so slow in trying one of these.

I love mine to bits - eat a couple, freeze a couple, then repeat.
And no two ever identical due to available ingredients at the time <ok>

You can get all sorts of cookie cutter type shapes these days, just crack your eggs and pour them in with the yokes in the appropriate ball spaces

    Bah!

Well, General, all I can say is your kitchen clearly has
far more gadgets and gizmos in it than mine <yikes>

edit - just had a look on ebay and how right you are!!
There's even a special egg fryer available, in erm, that shape for a mere £4.68.
My oath, what a sheltered life I've lead <laugh>

<yikes> Possibly the worst picture of 'food' I've ever seen.

Thank goodness any chance of a heart attack is warded off by that healthy pint of OJ! <ok>

I'll keep an eye out for that in future
Walked to my local M&S (Sweetbriar) for a cup of tea yesterday afternoon and as I was leaving, I thought I'd have a look round the store to see if there were any bargains.
I picked up 5 smoked haddock fillets individually wrapped, a goat curry, Sea Bass fillets in a coating and 2 chicken breasts with skin on.
    Total cost almost £27 actual cost - £6.80. #bargain, #livingwell

One of my local chippies (No not the "Chip Inn"), the Cods Scallops, does a great range of fish and is actually as good as the hype and its national awards suggest (This puts it on a par with the very best like the Chip inn). It had a special on Skrei Cod and it was bloomin marvelous. It just had that little more punch than standard cod. If you see some at your local fish monger or chippy give it a go.

    Bah!

Might be alright although when I've seen/had jerk chicken and goat curries it often seems to be prepared/cooked on the bone before they then cleave it. Given they are saucy dishes the shards of bone can make for a bit of an unpleasant dinning experience. I'm not prissie or particularly finicky over food, but it just seems stupid to fracture the bones when you could so easily eat off them.

    Bah!
