Look, I'm not getting all arsey because the likes of Watford and west Ham had the temerity to wipe the floor with us. They're mid-table sides like ourselves (performing better though) and in both cases I tipped them to beat us. What I'm pissed about is that from a very early stage it was clear our one attacking option, be it because he was instructed to follow Collins around the pitch or did it of his own volition, just wasn't working. We didn't adapt to that on the field (we have no real leader now since gerrard went) and our manager froze and did nothing. I hope he's including himself with those he's angry with.

as to our 'false dawns' of whacking Chelsea, City and Soton - well that's what reasonably decent mid-table sides sometimes do. Stoke, Soton themselves, Villa a few seasons ago (and Newcastle), or going back to Fulham and Charlton a decade ago - all these teams were capable of pulling off a few stellar results a season, and that's where I think we're at. we also have to accept that the flipside is that almost any team can beat us. I expect klopp to improve things, in time, but neither I nor most Liverpool fans I know think we have a divine right any more to top four, let alone challenging for the league, simply based on our badge. Again, what I was frustrated about is that klopp showed no more nous than Rogers or Hodgson yesterday when we were being hosed, and I think that needs to be said.

I hear you, but sacking Rodgers when we did has done us no favours. We've been in catch up mode ever since.

Ancelotti! That's him, couldn't think of his bloody name the other day! <doh>

We have no devine right to the top four, no, but the majority still expect it and have indeed waited 25 years (now 26) for that blasted title, so if Leicester just walk up and take it in May...! It still doesn't mean you shouldn't have the ambition. Otherwise, why get pissed off with how it's going atm?

That's why Rodgers had to go, that's why Hodgson went and Klopp will go as well if it doesn't pan out but he's only been in the job a few months. He'll get the same time Rodgers got. It's only fair. If by then we see no improvement, fair do's. Until then, it is, as you say, what it is, we have what we have, until something changes.

Point taken. Clyne is strong enough but short.

Sterling can cope in prem but can also be dealt with if a side can't play him in.

Aspas was short, slight and average paced as a result he was rubbish

Strong players with a low centre of gravity are really difficult to knock off the ball.
I think you have to be exceptionally talented to hold your own if you don't have much physical presence, but you don't need all that much strength if you know how to use what you have got.
Sterling surprised me because he had as much oomph as a day old chick to begin with, but learned how to use the strength he did have to his advantage. If you're lightweight there's little point in going into a shoulder charge against someone 3 stone heavier, but speed means you can get your body in the way of the ball and either win it or draw the foul.

Having said all of that- as individuals, I don't think our players are as bad as is being made out - but they are nowhere near a cohesive unit atm.

Might be easier to let Lallana have the ball and let him Cruyff turn 16 times and then just pick up the loose ball.
