I do not think that this is too far of the mark, I think itwas the timing of the deal and not the money.

But you also ensure you have a new car lined up before you sell the old one, otherwise you run the risk of spending weeks walking everywhere! You line up a new house before selling the old one, so that you don't end up homeless.
Or possibly end up with 2 homes and a hell of a lot of carrying costs and the possibility of having to sell the original home at a reduced price.
