I too would have liked a charity on our shirt, but how would that work? Would we give them just the advertising space or would a donation be expected too? If it's just a case of advertising how about a NOT606 banner saying 'Hull City AFC Fans Support Dove House Hospice'?
Which suggests that it isn't that much, because the last few deals we've had have been announced as something like 'multi million pound deals' or 'over a million pounds'. As they've not divulged as much this time, it's safe to assume it's not a lot.
Can't think of a good reason to have a zoo , I saw my favourite animal (after me dog) ... A Penguin at FL zoo my pic was it looking at me all ballsy but behind a ****ty wire fence . I'll never visit a zoo again Penguins are THE **** ! On a human level it is a step up from a betting site , but it's not really hard is it
"The club said this morning that they had just six weeks to sort a deal, when normally they'd be looking at these deals for six months. With a deal that ended upon relegation, it might have been a good idea not to wait until the end of May before starting to look for a new one." See response above from OLM post #291
It's not a new idea, Hearts had Save The Children on their shirts for three seasons, Villa had a local hospice on theirs for a season and Barcelona had UNICEF on theirs for years(and paid €1.5m a year for the priviledge). If the fee is as low as many think, then doing what Boro have done(putting it on the back of the shirt), then giving over the front to Dove House would have been a great thing to do(or the Daisly Appeal, which Allam donates to anyway).
Protecting endangered species is more of a human interest though, isn't it? It's not like tigers have some romantic ideal about sacrificing their freedom for the good for the continuation of their species. A tiger would be happier roaming around than locked in cage. It cannot comprehend (or give a **** about) the idea that it may help tigers still exist in 100 years, or whatever. Even if tigers thought like us, with romantic ideas about continuing the species. I don't think i'd submit to being locked in an area (even if it's a fairly nice one with grass and a bit of a lake), even if the chances are that i'd live longer and that it would help the continuation of my species. That being said, as sponsors go, it isn't that bad. Most big companies willing to sponsor a shirt are going to be a bit ****. Maybe a nicer logo would have been nice, and in an ideal world a charity or something - but whatever.
Because the club have had far more important things to focus on like a court case, an arbitration tribunal and FA submission. Why do you think the Allams never talk about anything else? We don't have a chief executive at the club, another lie by the way, and the owners are permanently occupied with this sort of crap.
That's dodging the obvious criticism of how the club is run and the people who run it, but hide behind it if you wish.
I get the feeling the club was supremely confident of staying up. No potential signings were scouted out in the case we went down, and no sponsorship deal was lined up. Surely the club should always be planning for all eventualities, particularly given how poor we were looking in January.
As the 'club' admit they know **** all about football, they will have been advised by someone they pay loadsamoney and he clearly led them up the garden path back to the Championsip. Never mind, his sponsorship goes on.
