Well my phone has just rung and it's my mate. He said, "Hang on, someone wants to talk to you." OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! IT was Franny! He's knackered, but doing well and on the home run. My mate was helping with the crew this week and I told him that if Franny gives me a mention I'd make a sizeable (well for me anyway) donation. Well bugger me, he got him to call me so I had better cough up. He will be on the pitch at half-time, so give your half time beer a miss and make sure you give him a massive round of applause and drop as many pennies as you can spare into his bucket!!

made my night.

Well done You & Franny. ;)

And your mate, as well.

If I were organising Saturday'sgame and publicity around Franny, I'd have a small container under the seat at the end of every row of seats in the ground. Just before kick off, I'd announce that the container was there and ask it to be passed along the row and filled. That way, rather than buckets that could be ignored, it'd be passing under the nose of everyone at the ground in front of their seating neighbours. If everyone just popped a quid in, it'd nearly double Franny's take.

The guy's doing something I simply can't believe is possible and I'd really like to see the club do more than just talk about it.

I think the club will do more than talk about it.

Hi,
one of my rare posts. I remember Dennis Rofe commentating on Solent a few years ago. "Franny Benali - Heart as big as a dustbin'!
Well we cannot disagree and I think it's a great pity that someone from the PFA cannot persuade one or two of their members to donate a small percentage.
Also, and I risk offending a few here I guess, how come Greater Manchester 'community' has raised more than £800,000 overnight for a burned down stray dogs home yet Franny's exceptional effort has around 10% for human beings ?

Doesn't offend me at all. I predicted it to my wife this morning.

Franny just gone through my home town.

I hope he gets a fantastic reception through the streets today when he reaches Southampton.
