Must have a 24 hour recall clause? Or is Oxley coming back? ....it isn't like McGregor hasn't been injured more than once already this season.

Also, just noticed in the Yorkshire Post that we're letting Stewart leave for free - seems a strange one considering there are apparently 'several' clubs that have shown an interest in him.

With goalkeepers you don't need clauses, the rules are completely different to outfield players. If we're left with only 1 senior keeper available (due to injury, if it's due to suspension we're ****ed) we're allowed to recall either Jak or Oxley regardless of when it is or the nature of he loan. I suspect what we'd do though is use Cracknell as the sub keeper and only recall one of the other two if both McGregor and Harper were injured at the same time.

As for Stewart, there's still no explanation on how he's getting round the 2 club rule if he joins anyone other than Charlton.

has he actually played a league game for us yet?

He played in the League Cup. It's a first team game so it counts as an appearance. They could try to appeal on the grounds it was only a Cup game, but I'm not sure UEFA would be all that keen on us saying to FIFA that a competition where the winners get a European place shouldn't count as a first team competition.

Yep - I can't see any way round that either, for Stewart or McLean.

McLean has only played for us, his loan at Birmingham was an emergency loan so they don't count.

Apparently Bradford only want £1.5m for him, and there aren't actually any prm clubs interested.

£3m has been quoted by Bradford City as the Udders want Wells.

SB has denied we are after Fletcher and I don't see us spending £12Million on anyone any time soon. £1.5 for Wells must be worth a punt - even if it includes someone like Mclean in part ex

SSN report today that in the Times paper Hull City have had an £8m bid for Fletcher turned down. True or not the point is that Poyet/Sunderland need to raise wonga before they can bring anyone in.

The problem with McLean is that he is on Premiership wages which no-one is willing to match. So the best we can hope for is to loan him out until his contract expires and the other club to pick up a reasonable percentage of his salary.

We need McLean and Prosser for our FAC games. Why risk our main players @ Southend ?

Nothing in the Powell rumour

Depends. No news could be good news.

@GraemeBailey: We are hearing Max Gradel is in talks about a return to Yorkshire! But sorry Leeds fans seems rivals Hull City are set to land him.

Dont see any need to sign him. He is no better than what we have and Steve Bruce has already gone on record saying that he will only bring in players that are better than what we have now.

"Sky sources understand that six clubs, four from the Premier League, have expressed an interest in taking Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha on loan this month."

Could on be us?

Nope. Newcastle Utd appear to be in pole position if Moyes allows Zaha to go out on loan.

Eldin Jakupovic is believed to be on the verge of sealing a loan move to League One promotion-chasers Leyton Orient.

One month loan deal as Orient need a keeper at the moment.

Oxley came on against Wednesday at home last season after Jakupovic went off with a broken heart.

Djordjevic has signed a precontract to join Lazio in the summer.

Apparently he can still join other clubs if they bid for him now (so what's the point of the precontract?), but I'd like that to be the end of our interest if we were still after him. I'm not sure we're in the position where we can afford to be going into a season where we'll likely be looking to avoid relegation again with a player in the squad who's not even got the loyalty to stick by a club for long enough to even sign the contract after he's agreed to.

Thats to bad I thought Djordjevic looked good.

So are we down to just the Long and Fletcher rumours for strikers?

There'll be more than that that we're after. The media only catch on to the odd one and most of them are wrong.

Got a strong feeling we are in for Rhodes.

It will have to be a big bid. Probably at least 12 million. They just turned down a 8 million pound bid.

"One player who will not be leaving Ewood Park in January is top-scorer Rhodes, who scored 30 league goals in 2013 - more than any other player in English professional football.

The Scotland striker has been linked with an £8m move to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.

But Bowyer insists the prolific marksman is staying put, saying: "Jordan Rhodes isn't for sale.

"I was never very good at maths but we paid £8m for him, then he goes and scores the most goals in the calendar year - more than Luis Suarez - and yet he is still valued at £8m.

"That doesn't quite add up to me - but then again I'm no Carol Vorderman!"

I get what he is saying, but when they over paid by 2, maybe 3 times his actual value. It's hard to expect other clubs to value him the same.

But if they have no need to sell and don't want to sell him why would they accept less than 10M? There's nothing in it for them so i really don't see him going for anything under 10m, which is a lot of money and will nearly double our deficit for this season.

I don't think he's worth it, but why would it double our deficit? We don't know what the budgeted spend for the season was. The £11M deficit in the budget more than likely included the £6.5M we didn't end up spending on Long in August, as well as £xM to be spent in January. Spending all that on one player wouldn't change our deficit.

We also don't know what position we were budgeted to finish in. There's more than £1M extra income for every position you climb the table, so finishing in 10th rather than 17th would reduce the deficit to less than £2M (I think it's £1.3M a place but I'd have to check).

they are currently 10th in the championship so clearly having Rhodes isn't sending them to the promised land. they've got Gestede in and even a deal getting their money back, £8mill would go a long way to strengthening. I think £9.5-£10m and someone will land him.
