DQPR agreed a fee of £2.25m upto £4m subject to appearances and goals during his time @ Dqpr.

Like i said, imo I bet Hull City would have taken a gamble on Austin on the same terms.

It was an undisclosed fee, but was reported by everyone as being £4m, just £500k less than we'd agreed.

I'm so glad, in hindsight, that we didn't get Austin.

It's all well and good people talking about who we would like to see up front for City but, has anybody thought about who will leave. Huddlestone has put his name in the shop window big time, and i would hate to see either he, or Livermore leave. Hopefully they don't but someone might come along at the deaths nell and whisk them away from us. That is the worrying thing

Not because of the knee, but because we went on to use that £4.5m towards getting Thudd...

If we had got Austin, we would not have got Thudd.

Well for starters we don't own Livermore but have first right to him in the summer, so not concerned there. And strongly doubt Huddlestone would leave 6 months into a sucessful contract.

If 1 of the big 4 came knocking on his door Syd, I doubt that he would hang around

After just leaving a big club because he wasn't getting regular games?

I would not worry about ^^^^ this just yet.

    Agreed. ^^^^ this.

More chance of Vincent Tan sacking OGS and bringing back Malky Mackay and Ian Moody.

Nope. But the £4m is subject to Austin's appearances and goals. Even you should be able to understand that.

Yep, the deadline for transfers is usually the night before.

    Excellent!

Can any of the 'reliables' confirm if there's any truth to this? Can't remember who it was who was right on top of the Huddlestone and Livermore deals as they happened.

He can play if he sorts it out by the weekend. And having already sorted it in summer there ain't much more to do beyond the medical.
It should go through if he passes and he is sure to be in the squad at the weekend if so.

Lunchtime on Friday is usually the deadline for signings for the weekend games. But as you've seen on transfer deadline days with deals being announced 3 hours after the window closes, that just means the deadline for the clubs submitting the initial paperwork confirming the transfer is going ahead, the rest of it can be submitted on Friday afternoon.
