Berba's name was being bandied around in the evening standard tonight circa 8 mill.
Anyone fancy a punt on the sulky Bulgarian ?

I'd take Berba back in a heart-beat.
Yes, he broke my heart with the manner in which he left us, but if he comes back and forms a 40+ goals-a-season with Defoe/Ade, he'd have the fans singing his name with pride once more.
Berba's always been far more technically gifted than Keane, and he'll always make space for himself.
I think he'd be worth a punt at £8m. As, as someone said, he'd have to work hard to win the fans back, which ought to give him some incentive.

Tottenham are among a host of clubs chasing highly-rated Pescara defender Marco Perrotta, according to the player's agent.
The 18-year-old is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future and will have the chance to impress in the Italian top flight this season following Pescara's promotion from Serie B.
Perrotta's representative, Ulisse Savini, says his focus is on performing as well as he can but admits there is a lot of interest.
While Spurs are understood to be keen on bringing Perrotta to England, Savini insists they would face fierce competition for his signature from clubs in Italy.
He said in tuttomercatoweb: "AS Roma, AC Milan and Tottenham on him? It's true, but not only them, there are other clubs interested in the player.
"Right now he is looking forward to a season with Pescara in Serie A and he has a contract that ties him to the club until 2016.
"For the future we'll see."
WHY ARE WE EVEN LOOKING AT DEFENDERS RIGHT NOW??!!
You know who I think would really suit Villas-Boas' style of play? Marouane Fellaini.
Swap for Jenas?
Gallas and Bassong aren't long for the club, so if the centre back options are Kaboul, Vertonghen, Dawson, and Caulker, with Perrotta, Hall and Fryers (what's the hold-up with that one, seriously?) waiting in the wings, it's a good balance.

If you can sell that one to Moyes, you could sell fridges to Eskimos!...
