Berba's name was being bandied around in the evening standard tonight circa 8 mill.
Anyone fancy a punt on the sulky Bulgarian ?

    Honestly? Yes.

He'll have to rebuild some bridges, but if he redeems himself that means he's performed to the standard we used to love him for.

I was thinking about this yesterday and I honestly believe we could end up with him at this rate. it'll be a last min thing if it happens, but I could see levy swallowing his pride and resorting to this. we look like we're priced out of everyone else at the moment.

can't see Llorente happening (I think he's Juve bound), Damaio could have happened at some point over the last 18 months but hasn't for what ever reason, the Soldado bid of 23mill was rejected... I don't know who's left of real quality that would be on Levy and AVB's radar, to be honest.

(obviously Ade is incredibly likely to be coming in.)

  7. I'd take Berba back in a heart-beat.

Yes, he broke my heart with the manner in which he left us, but if he comes back and forms a 40+ goals-a-season with Defoe/Ade, he'd have the fans singing his name with pride once more.

has he still got the hunger though HIAG, that's the question?

and would be as good the second time round? or would we have another keane part deux?

  9. Berba's always been far more technically gifted than Keane, and he'll always make space for himself.

I think he'd be worth a punt at £8m. As, as someone said, he'd have to work hard to win the fans back, which ought to give him some incentive.

Isn't the talk that he's available for around £4million.

That's not even a gamble, and the lad is still brilliant.

    Then we can have Defoe...

I rather eat my own **** than have Berbs back. He dissed our club. I wouldn't boo him all the time he was wearing one of our shirts but if he took it off to celebrate a goal I'd probably get thrown out for using abusive language. I'd rather finish mid table than have him in the side.

what I meant with regards to Keane, is would he basically end up being a shadow of what we once witnessed?

would levy pay 8mill for someone who's 32 in 6 months time? That I doubt.

something tells me we'll end up going in for him though.

    and seriously, another defender?!

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8006220/?

Tottenham are among a host of clubs chasing highly-rated Pescara defender Marco Perrotta, according to the player's agent.

The 18-year-old is regarded as an exciting prospect for the future and will have the chance to impress in the Italian top flight this season following Pescara's promotion from Serie B.

Perrotta's representative, Ulisse Savini, says his focus is on performing as well as he can but admits there is a lot of interest.

While Spurs are understood to be keen on bringing Perrotta to England, Savini insists they would face fierce competition for his signature from clubs in Italy.

He said in tuttomercatoweb: "AS Roma, AC Milan and Tottenham on him? It's true, but not only them, there are other clubs interested in the player.

"Right now he is looking forward to a season with Pescara in Serie A and he has a contract that ties him to the club until 2016.

    "For the future we'll see."

WHY ARE WE EVEN LOOKING AT DEFENDERS RIGHT NOW??!!

Gallas and Bassong aren't long for the club, so if the centre back options are Kaboul, Vertonghen, Dawson, and Caulker, with Perrotta, Hall and Fryers (what's the hold-up with that one, seriously?) waiting in the wings, it's a good balance.

You know who I think would really suit Villas-Boas' style of play? Marouane Fellaini.
    Swap for Jenas?

Jenas counts towards the homegrown quota and... erm, nope, that's all I've got.
