It looks like Bassong might be joining QPR tomorrow. No idea if it's a permanent deal or a loan, but people on both sides seem to be saying the same thing. More ITK bullshit? Time will tell.
According to that well-known source (FM12 to be exact), there's a clause in Bassong's contract that sees us pay Newcastle a chunk of money after a certain number of games - which may explain why Harry suddenly froze him out, although the fact he BS'd about it when loaning him to Wolves doesn't help. So that would justify Perrotta coming in, whilst we wait for the tribunal to stop dicking us around over Hall and Fryers.
For months now we've needed two strikers and a keeper, the rest is just window dressing AFAIC. If we play WBA with the same team that we played Toon, I will be absolutely furious, and not at all confident of victory.
August 20 - "I'd take Berba back in a heart-beat" August 23 - "I'd take Bendtner in a heart-beat" August 27 - "I'd take Chamakh in a heart-beat" August 31 - "Heskey has always been underrated in my opinion"
I expect the same team as I don't think avb will play sig and vdv in the same starting line up, which means we will play this 4-2-3-1 but that seems too negative for a home game so it be interesting to see if avb changes our line up.
Haha, good one I've actually been saying for about a year now that i'd be very keen to have Berbatov back at the lane, if we were to end the window with Berbatov and Adebayor i'd be an extremely happy man, I wouldn't have expected to hear myself saying that 3 years ago!
There's a lot in the gossip column this morning about us buying Carroll and a player called Pjanic. It's easy to prefer the latter because we haven't seen him play and last season we saw the worst of the former. My fear about Carroll is that he would do a Robbie Keane. Keane was good when he played for us and made the mistake of leaving as he was Spurs through and through and failed elsewhere. Carroll I see the same but for Newcastle. The prospect of signing him makes me just as despondent as the signing of AVB. I would have to read up about Pjanic but I hope AVB would go for an attacking goal scoring midfielder to help what I consider to be a weak forward line even with Adebayor coming back. Ade and Carroll? Ade and Defoe? Ade and Kane? Carroll and kane etc etc.
Just saw this in the Mirror(newspaper not the glass thing!) http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfer-news-edin-dzeko-1271340 Also heard a rumour of the 2 for $30mil. WTF?
Also seen that it could be Montpellier too. I've been trying to find good sources through twitter over the weeks, but it's very difficult. However last night, someone who I follow (who is very realistic and appears to hate the bullshit itk's), was retweeting someone who seems to have some decent info. Apparently Our new striker is lewandowski, but won't be announced until Dortmund have found a replacement. Also, he says rule out everyone else too, apart from lloris and moutinho. (Carroll, sturridge, leandro etc etc) And everyone is now saying that Ade is done. 1 guy said he was in a pub with him last night and he confirmed it. How much of this is true, I really don't know. But it seems a lot more like reality. Lewandowski makes sense, we were strongly linked with him months ago. The only thing I can't work out is why he'd leave the bundesliga winners to play for us? He must have cost a fortune if this is the case. Again, just passing stuff on. don't shoot the messenger.
i've started to take no notice of what's in the papers, now i wait to see the player at Spurs lodge with the shirt on.
haha, unfortunately people on here are quick to jump on you if you're not careful mate! what a signing Lewandowski could be though, if it's true. 30 goals in 67 games for Dortmund and still only 23. Something tells me this one is too good to be true, but fingers crossed. so the telegraph reckons qpr have offered 8 mill for Dawson. bearing in mind the "pace" issue everyone's discussing with AVB's high line, would you take the 8 mill and find someone else? I'm a massive Dawson fan, always have been, but I do fear for how much he will actually play this season. (all hypothetical of course, as it's paper talk, as far as we know)
I'm a massive Dawson fan as well. If Spurs are going to get rid of him it will not be due to his pace, his vision more than makes up for that, it will be his injury record. He is not getting any younger and I doubt if he will play 38 games in a season ever again. Now would be the time to cash in. It's sad to say but football is not a sport, it is a business.
