Exactly. I always say Bournemouth have sold and bought well recently, but are one or two duds away from being a lot worse off than us.
Just to add that when we sold Martin Chivers, which l remember well, we did so in the knowledge that a certain Mick Channon was coming through from the reserves. Oh, those happier days!Exactly. Only the other day we were mourning the loss of Martin Chivers, who was the first example of “selling our best” in my Saints-fan experience. The key to success with this phenomenon is in who you recruit to replace the sold asset, and that’s where we have been struggling in recent years. The £75 million we received for VVD in 2018 was largely spaffed up the wall, but no one at the club today is responsible for that.

And had no where near the same peak we did...Exactly. I always say Bournemouth have sold and bought well recently, but are one or two duds away from being a lot worse off than us.
Oh I don't know, so their fans tell me, they were second for a while and actually went top of the Premier League for a few minutes in game. And had no where near the same peak we did...
Thought I'd bump this thread ready for the 5pm meltdown.
Why? Can't blame him at all really for being thrust into a job at a hugely dysfunctional club which he was exceptionally underqualified for.
Unless we get seriously sucked into the relegation battle (in which case we will need to send out an SOS to someone), then I would now probably keep him until the end of the season because our top six hopes are over. He can effectively revert to being an interim manager now, to see us through until the end of the season, at which point we can appoint a replacement.
But knowing SR, they will totally f-up that appointment too.
Simply cos I think he's a twat. You're right in that he was thrust into a job that he was unsuitable for, but rhat doesn't excuse his arrogance, his bullshit, his stubborness and his lack of in game football knowledge.
I mean, it can definitely excuse the last one surely?
I just don't see the point in disliking him. The problems run far deeper than simply who the manager is and what formation we play.
Genuinely, is there any way we can remove him at least for Pompey.
Get Neil Warnock managing that game. Someone old school who will actually be a good motivator. Tonda is dull as ****. Never thought we'd have someone so ****ing uninspiring going into our biggest game in god knows how long.

I just want to see us play 4-2-3-1 for a number of consecutive games to satisfy my curiosity.
I believe that the signings we made are better suited to that system and Fellows, Azaz And Leo have never started in the three behind the striker yet and were only briefly like that today.
I'd like to see Azaz start the next game from the bottom of the Itchen tbh.
We could always try Jander, Matsuki or Bragg as the 10.
