Everything is telling me I should be excited by the cannon link but just don’t feel it, maybes if I see he’s up here for a medical tomorrow I’ll change my tune, I’m very fickle when it comes to safc

 

Mate logically I agree with you. I dont think experience of English footy can be underestimated. The alternative though is Simic looks like he has attributes that should fit so well with us. He looks to run with the ball well, holds it up, great 1st touch and a better first pass. He is also a lanky bugger and the way our set pieces seem to be suddenly 100% better he could maybe get 5 headers from set pieces, which on its own might easily directly translate to points. I would be delighted with either, but unusually for me I may be tempted with the 'what could be' in Simic.

 

The big striker thing is what makes me want mendy as well. Hold up play and aerial ability is huge for us. Cannon is brilliant

I would be happy with either, im like you more drawn to Simic as i just feel the upside is massive but id much prefer Cannon to Mendy

 

Cannon would be a very good signing, I remember there being a buzz when we were linked with him this time last year what’s changed? He’s had a freak injury keep him out most of the season. I think we’re all getting carried away by the Simic hype because any striker above 6 foot who comes through RB’s academy is labelled the next Haaland. Both a step up from what we’ve been shopping around for recently imo

 

I really don't see th club signing another winger, we have plenty of cover there now.

 

Cannon is brilliant and has a lot of upside. But mendy’s physical profile is surely more fitted to us?

 

Pressing numbers are poor though. Think Simic is the best of both worlds.

I will say though, us moving first is a good thing I wonder if this could progress fast as Leicester might accept

 

He’s been unfortunate at Leicester tbh. But I’d say there’s a reason they paid the fee they did

 

Leicester won’t accept. There’s a reason the journalist knows those other clubs are preparing to bid

 

I dont think theres much of a difference in height between the 2 is there? Cannon is intelligent with his movement, he links play better and has a good turn of pace. I havent seen as much of Mendy as i have Cannon or Simic so probably judging it on that

I dont think we need a big physical presence, we dont play route 1 but Cannon has good strength n holds the ball up well. I just think his movement will bring more to the team that Mendy would

You’re definitely right re movement.

not sure on height just mendy looks a lot stronger and better at that hold up play to play off. Lots of times we’ve fired the ball into Mayenda

I don't read too much into fees tbh mate as they're hideously inflated these days

 

I wonder if Cannon is similar to Gelhardt with his strength. Small but can hold the ball up still
