Think cannon would get goals here, any competent striker should but yeah I don’t get the same buzz about him I do with simic, still think he’d be a good addition though
Leicester bought him when most of the champ wanted him on loan. Felt to me like they were being greedy. He’s a good finisher, quick, and makes good movements. He’s only 21 I’m sure
Would definitely prefer Simic to Cannon, but Cannon would be a great fit here. He’s more than just goals, does a lot of good stuff off the ball. Would be an excellent energetic presser alongside Rigg or Jobe in our 4-4-2 shape.
Fwiw if you look on the quote tweets and some of the replies, Leicester fans seem pretty pissed off that they’re selling him and keeping Daka / signing Ayew.
Aye, I’m not saying he’s ****. He’s a hell of a gamble though. He scored 8 of his 10 goals in a short window at Preston. 30 games as 21 is a worryingly low amount. There’s nothing to back it up. Why are Leicester not keeping and developing, they are a club that brings players on. Several red flags for me.
Probably because they are in the premier league. He moved there from Everton for minutes but obviously they had Vardy, Ihenacho and daka. Now they are in the prem he’s back at square 1
Leicester need cash as well. I’d imagine if their finances were okay they’d just be loaning him out. But seeing they’re ****ed financially they need to sell him.
Unless it's mental money and Roberts wants away I don't see any reason to sell him. He was unbelievable Saturday
Is he though? Vardy struggles with injuries now. Daka is pipe and Ihenacho is gone. They aren’t signing a top striker surely they’d hang on mot him if they thought it was even plausible he make it in the PL? When he left Preston, I was all for him. What’s happened since? No, not for me. There’s lists galore of players like this who never make the leap and my gut is he is one of them. Obv if we sign him he’s R9 reborn…
10 goals in just over 2000 minutes of championship football is a good record. Quality finisher, quick, runs the channels, presses well and is comfortable playing with his back to goal. Think it would be a good buy if it comes off. Not concerned about why Leicester are selling him, they've just bought a 32 y/o Ayew for £8m, they clearly aren't looking at youth development right now. I do worry about the injury that made him nearly fail the Leicester medical and didn't allow him to play for several months afterwards though.
Cannon would be a supreme fit here btw. We have held a long standing interest in him, so it wouldn't surprise me if we spend our new dosh on him.
The idea of signing Simic excites me, the idea of signing someone Leicester are happy to let go doesn’t. I’d rather we were signing players who could possibly make it in the PL when we get there.
