All fair mate, and it is good to have different opinions. I just cant get my head around anyone walking out on teammates on brink a of a big tournament, for any reason. You dig in and you make the best of it you can, or at least I would. Being a teammate should be through thick and thin for me. But respect your views as always :emoticon-0150-hands

My Dad was born in the NE, went down the pit at 15 straight from school and barely left his village until he was sent to Sicily in WW2. He was in the DLI but fought alongside regulars and conscripts from all over England, not to mention various Scottish regiments.

He couldn't abide the Cockneys or the Welsh but fought alongside anyone who wore the same tin hat and did his best ...

... there's absolutely no excuse for what Keane did, he thought his ego was bigger than the common cause.

If blokes in WW2 thought the same we'd all be posting in German.

When Keane was our manager, I managed to get him to do a talk-in at our establishment. He was an absolute dream for any sports fan. He answered every question without shirking and sat with me in my office for a good half hour before and then again after the session and chatted quite openly over a cuppa (he takes black tea four sugars :emoticon-0105-wink:). I completely understand the public perception of him but I can only go by my experience, he was a gent and it was a pleasure to be in his company.

As I said he answered every question put to him, as far as I could tell open and honestly. I accept that his response to the questions were from his perspective but his answers were plausible and explained quite a lot of his less savoury behaviour.

He posed for pictures and signed autographs and the only thing he asked was that nothing was leaked to the press, which to my knowledge has been respected by everyone in attendance.

Establishment, what do you mean by that mate like a pub, a workplace or a club of some kind (I mean like a working mens club, charity or union or something by the latter)? Just asking as form what you said he was comfortable enough to be open about things even the press haven't gotten wind of about him so it must have been quite a select group.

I swing like a pendulum with Keane can't make my mind up!

Wasn't expecting that answer. I have to say to me that's another positive mark for him!

My life is easy thanks to fellas like your Dad. I have so much respect for what those who went before did for us.

I have been part of teams in footy and work situations. Always 100% in it together no matter what. Keane might have had reasons but they will never resonate with me. You stand by your teammates if you have agreed to be part of that team. I only played non league semi pro, but it was hard and tough. Lads always had my back and vice versa, never in question.

Lying in bed sipping a G&T after a day by the pool having a few drinks on holiday, kids finally asleep in a chilled little mood so I chucked that newest preseason training video on my phone and something about RLB being stood there with Dodds, Proctor and English alongside him has sent me into a right depression :emoticon-0102-bigsm back to watching Gordon Ramsay on the national geographic with Turkish dubs!

I worked on a crew of eighteen 'doormen' in Nottingham and a team of around thirty blokes in France when I was on security and close protection. I absolutely f*ckin hated some of them and i'm sure some hated me, especially when I was the 'Rosbif', getting all the best jobs as the US film stars wanted me because I spoke English and understood their culture.

But we all stood together and had each other's backs when things went wrong ...

... I'm glad we didn't have anyone like Keane among us, I'll never understand what he did tbh.

I think that was down to arrogant, Revie-worshiping players who couldn’t take the truths that Clough told them.

All I can say is who were the coaches when we were playing that lovely fast flowing football under Tony Mowbray, let’s get them back.

Must’ve had proctor and english making the cups of tea, they look like two gormless twats who’ve got no idea what’s going on every training video that’s uploaded! To be fair Dodds is dishing out orders and getting stuck in

I'm getting very apprehensive about it. Can't understand why RLB hasn't brought his own people in.

Don't you ever think these clips are as fake as can be ...

... they're a bit of fun to entertain our young supporters, not an in depth analysis of our methods.

What would you be saying if Proctor and English were pushing themselves in front of Dodds ...

Not really just looks like they’re running a training session, they’ll be used to having cameras rolling now it’s been like this for years. I’d be praising them for looking like they’ve at least got an input and not just standing there looking bemused

The owner must be blind, paying out good money for that ...

    ... oh well, never mind.

Is it the owners responsibility to hire the coaching staff? Thought he paid someone to do that for him, unless he really wanted to intervene. Not as if he hasn’t got anything wrong either mind. Also, he was paying Steve Davison for long enough :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Sounds like you’re always going to find something to be miserable about with the club. Just enjoy your g&t and you holiday.
