When Keane was our manager, I managed to get him to do a talk-in at our establishment. He was an absolute dream for any sports fan. He answered every question without shirking and sat with me in my office for a good half hour before and then again after the session and chatted quite openly over a cuppa (he takes black tea four sugars

). I completely understand the public perception of him but I can only go by my experience, he was a gent and it was a pleasure to be in his company.
As I said he answered every question put to him, as far as I could tell open and honestly. I accept that his response to the questions were from his perspective but his answers were plausible and explained quite a lot of his less savoury behaviour.
He posed for pictures and signed autographs and the only thing he asked was that nothing was leaked to the press, which to my knowledge has been respected by everyone in attendance.
