You’re presuming we’ll spend a good chunk of the money received from sales this summer. We just don’t know that yet.

Yeah same here, he's already scoring goals and getting in good positions and the stuff that needs improving is relatively minor. Mainly staying on his feet and learning how to use his physique.

That's the position he looks most natural in to me.

Any potential new head coach will elicit comment and opinion. Appointing someone like Robinson would go down exceptionally badly with the Sunderland fan base and probably not much better with the media. After 350 games as manager it is difficult to suggest he's anything more than a journeyman. Fans aren't always correct of course but we were regarding Beale and this one has a similar feeling. Someone who's pinnacle is mid table in Scotland is not an ambitious appointment. Of course appointing Still/Maric/Svensson could fail but they would rightly been seen as interesting and ambitious. Suggesting this is not going on like a five year old. It's just expressing an opinion based on being a Sunderland fan for fifty odd years.

It's possible he's been briefed to bring in a collection of talented young lads from which he can form a squad and then a team.

A team that would bond, grow and become an outfit that could get to the PL, stick together and stay up.

Without the injuries we'd have a team that, with two or three additions, could do just that imo.

    Just a possibility.

Or we can do what some seem to want ...

... spend on the usual Championship journeymen, bring some loanees in and cobble together a 'Sheff Utd' that can go up to take a weekly battering.

Growing a team can make the club sustainable, buying one makes it unsustainable if you don't go up.

I'll go for Plan A, having seen Plan B a dozen times before.

I'm afraid I think printing out stickers with "Speakman Out" written on them is infantile behaviour.

You’re not that pundit who said teams with kids never win anything are you ? He was proved massively wrong as Man United dominated for a few years after - hope we can do the same !

Yes, that is undeniable. Overall, Speakman, to date has done a decent job but he and the club seem to have lost their way. The appointment of Beale was treated with derision and the fans were shown to be 100% correct. We get 40K plus crowds and should be a really attractive prospect for ambitious young coaches but it seems that KLD/Speakman have somehow contrived to make us unattractive to the extent where we almost have to beg Will Still to consider us. Admittedly, this is all based on press and social media speculation which may be incorrect. However, when Wicky was muted that story was quickly closed down. The link to Robinson has not been closed down which is worrying. At best I would say Robinson has a record similar to Jack Ross's but without the promotions. If we were in L1 he may be OK but if we appoint him while saying the Premier League is our ambition then I'm afraid stickers will be Speakman's least worry. We would be correct in questioning every utterance he has come up with such improvement culture, progression, succession planning etc. and believe that all he is is hot air.

That is correct, just like those saying we won't spend much money received. However, based upon the fact that we spent a reasonable amount of money last year (how well is up for debate with many) suggests that it is more likely we will spend a good chunk of any money received.

100% mate. Good in the air already and can play forward or looking around.

Actually think he could be top class as a 9, the games we have played him there some games he’s been excellent.

There’s some right knackers around our club atm, spitting their dummies out, defacing our stadium, ffs what’s next misspelt bed sheets, fake coffins, infantile arseholes. I don’t know KS, never met him, therefore l neither like or dislike him, I think he’s got a job to do, and some of it he does ok, some he seems not to, but on the back of his performance in his role would I bother myself to print some stickers and go to the sheepfolds and put them in a very un prominent position just so I could photograph them, **** would I. I do hope whoever it is is on cctv, ban the **** from our matches, although given he’s probably a mag he’d probably be ok with that. Rant over.

I think if we'd signed a 6'3 English CF just turned 18 who knocked in 7 goals (would presumably have been more if he'd played up top every time) in his debut season there'd be no debate about it and we'd all be psyched about seeing him lead the line next season.

He's a natural for it imo and should be trained exclusively in that position.
