If he'd been able to keep his trap shut and get on with the job there would have been no campaign in the first place. He'd have been rumbled as a bullshitter eventually but the speed at which he revealed himself as one was the most impressive thing about him. He hadn't learned anything from his time at Rangers.
Absolute bollocks that mind. There was a protest before he was announced and the protest boys want another protest

No it wasn’t, I don’t think I have mentioned the Head Coach. When you look back you first quoted mine and asked, “what’s he done wrong” ie Speakman, and it went from there. You claimed that you were fed up of having to respond to people even though the “evidence is presented to them”. Those that have declared they don’t rate Speakman will have their reasons as you do for liking him. But at the end of the day, as I have said repeatedly, they don’t have an agenda that would want to see the club implode to say, that they were right along. That is all I have responded to today
I could say, those that are claiming others have an agenda, have an agenda.
Ah, right. Of course. My apologies.
I don't particularly like Speakman. I think he's done a good job overall though and, although things haven't gone well this season, in order to judge him, you have to consider information that we're not privy to- as I said about the reasons behind why we haven't signed a striker. Which boils down to the same thing about judging performance on what we know, rather than rumours and inferences.

I’ve stayed out of this discussion last few days as it’s an absolute mess of “my opinion’s more important than your opinion”. Like twitter. I think I’m pretty much done here.

same stuff over and over and over and over and over again. In every thread.

Anyway, my position is I’d be happy with Heckingbottom or Still. I expect more names to come into it as we enter May.

Re: Speakman, I’m on the fence. Personally would rather he went, but I’m not going to be annoyed if he stays.

Re: Dodds - he shouldn’t continue as assistant but I see absolutely no reason he shouldn’t stay as a first team coach. I don’t believe that his presence in that role will put coaches off as much as some are making out. Obviously keeping him as assistant would tho.

My biggest priority for SAFC is frankly none of this. We need Rigg to sign his pro deal. The rest is noise that will sort itself out.

I hope this forum gets back to some sort of normality once the summer window close

that will depend on if we have a good window or a bad one we all hoping for a good one

Speakman will stay in my opinion, mistakes have been made, mostly sacking Mowbray and I think they have been a little heavy on allowing too much experience to leave, but that can be easily rectified in the summer and it doesn’t need a major change in direction. We are heading in the right direction and I suspect the remit will remain the same for next season, a top-6 spot.

Speakman staying or going probably depends on what he’s offered and how we handle the errors of the season. The ideal world for me would be to add more room team savviness to the strategy and decision making either through giving the manager/hc a bit more say or adding someone a bit more experienced at this level. If we do that and he has an offer he may take it and do one but I don’t think we can do nothing at board level after this current mess.

Conversely some have an over inflated like for the people they continuously defend.
Don't think anyone on here as a over inflated like for Speakman, people just stating facts that in 3 seasons we have improved massively as a club from what we were, this season has been a bit disappointing but get get the next head coach correct and the is a decent squad there to work with, obviously with a few more additions.

I don't know. As a newcomer it does very much feel like lines have been drawn, the same four or five posters consistently butting heads with the same four or five other posters. That's something you lot have to sort out for yourselves though, I don't know how deep or how long it's been going.

Debate is only healthy when there's a willingness to consider each other points is all I would say. Not when all you're looking to do is score a point.

Does any of that apply to you ...

... you seem unwilling to appreciate other opinions and always want to set people against each other.

This isn't the first time you've had a pop at the board and how it runs. Why not just stick to the football, although you could only manage two snide little comments on the match thread tbf.

this that's one thing that's really does my tits in when people say we don't spend money, we've been one of the biggest spenders every year since KLD has come in and also people keep going off are league 1 wages for braying the club over the head about how much wages we are paying in the championship, we won't know until are accounts are out how much we actually are paying on wages when it comes to the championship
Nah ,do you mean spent it or wasted most of it.

Speakman strikes me as the kind of bloke who would get on my tits. As did Neil when he got us promoted, not sure I’d be a fan of Pep. I’d almost like to not like him for his spin talk but has done a lot of good things while here.
There a few things for me.
He’s revived our academy and if it keeps developing only good will come from it.
He’s also recruited a number of players with a massive upside. They won’t stay forever but it will grow our turnover which means we can increase our spend within the rules.
He’s developed a strategy. I’ve never seen the like before and the club has needed it as long as I’ve supported them. Probably replaceable but if we can keep the good bits we should.
I think there are a couple of significant weaknesses.
Not covering injuries/depth across the positions seem to leave gaps, it’s not as thorough as they make out, plus number 9 strikers throughout the ages seem lacking within the club, pace power goals , that would indicate a scouting issue to me like, unless there’s some weird philosophy. This year - a lack of readiness, almost Britishness in the signings.

No strong minded head coach would want to work with such a strict set up imo.
The alternative though is that we lose the game great from academy to first team. It’s a balance we need to get right but there are coaches seeing our young players through the journey and if we let them deselect our team it harms our processes which I think sound sensible. Of course we have to win first team matches more often so the journey of young players can’t be the only focus.

Anybody think they will go for Frank lampard?

Certainly wouldnt be my first choice but was he not forced to use youth at Chelsea when the monies ran out or they had an embargo on transfers.
