I don't have low standards, I think Speakman should lose his job just like I thought TM and MB deserved to lose theirs. But using select sample sizes is an agenda. Coastal makes some great points, I agree with a lot, but to say they don't have an agenda is just not true, because everyone has an agenda.

To me, he deserves to lose it because of the amount of money that has been spent. Transfermarkt has it at around €18million since promotion. His squad building is weird aswell, we have 5 wingers and maybe 2 fit midfielders.

Of course it doesn't. I'm disappointed. But when all you hear are the same arguments repeated over and over, despite other people presenting evidence for why those arguments aren't right, you begin to assume that the people making those arguments just have some irrational dislike for the people they're complaining about.

Conversely some have an over inflated like for the people they continuously defend.

this that's one thing that's really does my tits in when people say we don't spend money, we've been one of the biggest spenders every year since KLD has come in and also people keep going off are league 1 wages for braying the club over the head about how much wages we are paying in the championship, we won't know until are accounts are out how much we actually are paying on wages when it comes to the championship

Personally this is where I am struggling with Speakman, we have spent a decent amount of money but don't have the squad balance right at all.

We need players in the summer, yet our current squad needs trimming as we rightly have a strict wage budget and players need games to help their development, so we can't afford to keep them all

Agreed. He also reckoned the German winger could be a competent c.forward which was plain wrong as well.

I've read time and time again that coaches we have/had are crap and I know they train the team on how they want to set up against opposition and I know we have a young squad but does that save them from being questioned on their attitudes or discipline? Take the difference between Good Friday and Easter Monday, I read on here that it was all Speakman 's or Dodds' fault but no one actually questioned the players. We all know we have the youngest squad in the league but surely they need to apply themselves in every game. Performances will drop now and again but surely it's up to them to put the effort in no matter what

I think we may have 6/7 players who have featured fairly heavily this season out on loan next season

But he can only encourage them from afar. Once they cross that white line, it's up to them. Yes they're young but to get to this level they've shown enough nous to know at least the basics of how to play. On Easter Monday they didn't really do that, so who's to blame?

The balance in the squad is definitely wrong and this is probably one of the major factors in why this season hasn't gone the way it should have. That is the responsibility of Speakman and Harvey and the job they have done will have to be scrutinised by the board. Where I have difficulty with the criticism of Speakman is that people don't seem to be interested in, for example, why we haven't signed a Centre Forward. How many have they tried to sign? What are the reasons that they haven't signed? Can the club do anything about why they haven't signed- e.g. is it to do with the geography? The statement "Speakman is **** because he hasn't signed a striker" lacks any kind of thought, for me.

I guess for me anyway an opinion should be formed by looking at a situation from different perspectives and in the case of the club the positive and negative perspectives, there has been a lot of negatives lately but overall over the 3 years I believe more positive than negative.
However if you base an opinion on the negative only which as humans we do tend to brush aside positive things and hang onto negatives (it is just the way of things lately) then that becomes more of an agenda as it is only driven by the negative and not a fully balanced opinion.
I am guilty of this myself as I tend to look for something positive and lately over the last few weeks that has been difficult but if you look at our youth teams and ladies teams you can see where a lot of the hard work has been done so I try and balance my opinion with that to find something positive until the work on the first team can be addressed which will hopefully be this summer. We have stronger foundations now than we have had for years and this is where we can start to build our first team.

Roberts/Fabregas are still doing well at Como in Italian 2nd tier. Wonder if they are a possible option?

Hecky needs to accept small staff at Sunderland

Paul Heckingbottom may have to bring only
ONE member of backroom staff if he takes
    the Sunderland job.

Hecky is favourite for the post, as we
revealed last week, but the Black Cats want
to keep some of the existing staff.

And there could just be room for two arrivals, including Heckingbottom. He would have to choose between out of work Stuart McCall or Sheffield United coach Jack Lester.

Sunderland are also considering Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl but that would
    need a big transfer fee.

Rohl would also want his own staff. This issue handicapped Michael Beale who joined alone but wanted his own people eventually but was sacked quickly.

Fair do's. If they came out and said he was the number one all along but didn't want to pay the 5 mill compo, then fair enough in my eyes.

Although they would've still had to appoint someone till the end of the season and the 2 they have, have hardly been any good <doh>

Easter Monday? Both are to blame. But you don't get whooped 1-5 and call the gaffer doddsy. That's the level of fear they have for the main man. Imagine someone going that to SAF? I think not.

I swear, if we persist with Dodds and Proctor on the front bench, in prominent roles, we will get nowhere quick. It needs to be sorted. A new man should be able to get much more than the 1 man in. So far, they have been lucky to get that !

Just get them both at the AOL and off the front bench.
