Nantes should have been the game to reward members. Either let them in free or give them a free drink on the concourse. Everyone else pays £5 Adult and £1 kids. Upper Tier could have been used for the Community with Schools, Community Centres, Youth Clubs etc all being able to get tickets free. The likely stewarding costs would be a drop in the ocean to Acun but a big crowd ahead of a new season with a good performance could be crucial to selling more memberships. Its the School holidays, families are looking for low cost ways to entertain their kids. I put it in the whats app group of the football team I coach and every player but one (they are on holiday to be fair otherwise he would ahve eben there too) is now coming with at least one parent so there are about 30 of us there Saturday in E10. As Chazz said there is a 'cant be arsed' vibe around this game.
Holiday!? I was talking to a London City fan and he'd retired and he'd planned about 8 holidays during the season and he made sure he avoided missing any City matches.
There’s very much a can’t be arsed vibe. I’ve tried to rally a few to come but everyone can’t really be bothered as it’s ‘only Nantes’. I’ve been to almost every game home and away the last two years - even I feel a bit meh about it already.
Regardless of signings, I'm excited about the new season and happy to be able to go to matches, after having a Triple Heart By-pass 3 years ago and Bowel Cancer Surgery in May this year. I'm so grateful that I've been told I don't need anymore treatment for the cancer. I can't wait for Kick off.
Thanks it means a lot. Castle Hill were brilliant. Enjoying having the Grandkids up from Bristol with us for 2 weeks , and yes 10 year old Grandson is a Tigers supporter.
I sold it to my parents/players as 'Its a team from the same league as PSG'. Come Saturday 5pm I might be trying to find 10 more under 9s players for the new season but at least I have filled a small part of the ground for Acun!! I'm like a sh*t Botanic crew member.
If you're going to play in the SPL, you may as well go to the only big team there. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
We do the same but people like us and your mate aren't the problem. It is the other 8000 or so empty plastic seats that need filling. This was a chance to showcase the club, the team, the event to fence sitters. Ben Rainey did a great job of getting some atmosphere pre-game and then he is replaced by someone else. There have been some great bands on in the East Stand but why not stick some on the outside of the stadium with bottle bars and a kids zone? If the club treat it like a training game in a stadium they will get the response they have done.
I recall the club mentioning that they want to do this generally but there's issues with the ground area being generally quite small to do it in
Of course it was a chance to "showcase the club, the team, the event".Unfortunately he chose to do that with a 'showcase' fixture in Turkiye, that's where he's trying to flog the brand, the merch...Good luck with that, this season's fake merchandise will be on stalls in Bodrum market before it's in the Club's official store!! That said,I can't see why there isn't a bit more interest in going along and seeing what's what for the price of a pint and a chaser....
Based on some of the negative crap on here based on guesses and here say if I was Acun and I’d read this forum for the last two weeks I’d pack up and go home - some of you deserve absolutely nothing , even his video has been slammed - it was bad enough following City when the Allams were here and all that divisiveness , seems some of you have missed it !! FFS get behind them - pretty sure the guys doing what he can within his means
I don’t think a message board is the right place for you mate. We all have different opinions, that’s why forums like this exist
