I feel like there is a lot of apathy, and a lot of infighting between fans especially on Twitter. Even little things like attendances at the friendlies - last year for the Leicester game there was over 10k there yet tomorrow we’ll be struggling to get 3/4K. Don’t know if it’s an expectations issue or people already giving up.
Teteh out, Connolly in - No ****s given... neither prolific, both poor injury records, both have potential to do more, so we are neither strengthened or weakened. Encouraged by murmurings that Longman and Allahyar may be on their way with upgrade replacements targeted.
I think the club has really devalued the friendlies this season Like they can’t be arsed and the fans have thought likewise
A Premier League side will always be a bigger draw than a team who finished near the bottom of an uncompetitive french league.
All the permanent signings bar Woods had been signed by now, so had pre-season with us, so it didn't really apply last season (the loan players hadn't but we didn't really play them, other than Baxter who managed to get a season ending injury anyway).
Christie? Reassuring to know that in terms of getting the squad prepared we're actually behind last season then.
I think thats it HT2... whilst a marquee signing perhaps was never going to come, I really hoped that now a week before the season, the manager was saying, 'really excited, we're ready, we have all we need and we're good to go'... fact is we're are not and far from it... as it is, talk of STARTERS leaving, Ingram wasn't first choice obviously, no cover in certain positions, other players being e bayed...!!!
Christie didn't have a club, so quite clearly didn't have a pre-season before he came to us. We're way behind last season mate, absolutely ****ed, I don't know why you're worried about Tigers+ there's going to be **** all worth watching.
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co....ll-finance-expert-blackburn-rovers-situation/ This article on Blackburn shows we are pretty much in the same boat. Also shows that owners sponsorship can help boost the ffp figures. Hopefully Murat Ulker can get on board with that.
Murat Ulker wont get on board with something thats not premiership bound... I was going to type FACT but suspect someone would jump on it...
So he didn't have a pre-season. Are we only going to sign players from clubs? Or do we not know? Christ, it's really not that difficult to accept everything isn't sunshine and roses. No one's saying we're going to get relegated and I even posted positive views on the squad a couple of pages ago, but calling a spade a spade shouldn't be treated with the sort of snide comments you seem desperate to come out with.
I’m actually feeling confident and think we have made some good moves. We have Connolly coming in (on a permanent?), Vinagre, Vaughan feels like a new signing, Delap looks like he’s going to be a force up front. Andy Smith looks a solid back-up too! On top of that, we have moved on some of the players who weren’t up to it. Those who were signed last summer have now had enough experience in the division. We have found out who is good enough (there will always be mistakes in any transfer window). We are in a much better position now than last year. Rosenior is an honest manager who clearly looks after his players. Acun is an honest chairman and continues to do the right things. I can’t wait for the season to start and prove a lot of doubters wrong. Top half minimum are my expectations and I hope for at least play-offs. We are this season’s dark horse I think. UTT.
I think you are wrong or your friend is and surprised you might be agreeing with him, you probably have heard whispers of some of the potential targets they have tried for and are still trying for although one or two are quite difficult to push through not necessarily with the players but with their clubs, and these are not nod your head yes men, not players who necessarily don't do as they are told but players with experience who are also not afraid to do or try things they think might work.. They are banking on and hoping to get the players they want and not just any player to fill a gap whether they can get them all in is another thing but they are not all yes men as you probably know, Acun is not a very patient person but it seems he to is learning that you do not always get what you want straight away and don't just bring anyone in to just appease the fans, you appease the fans at the end of the season.
As you just referred everyone who's happy to wait and see who we sign as 'blind optimists', I don't think you're in any position to criticise others language.
So far it feels to me that we've just thrown the dice with our signings. Liam Delap - Everyone seems to talk him up but he ain't scored many goals. Jason Lokilo - A wandering minstrel. Can we get a tune out of him? Rúben Vinagre - Potential good signing so long as you don't talk to any Everton fans about him. Aaron Connolly - No explanation needed. Remains to be seen whether we can get Yahtzee or not.
Seems to be a few clubs in dire straits. WBA are getting mentioned. The excellent Benjamin Bloom (other than being a IT fan) on UTube, as them scraping the bottom of the barrel. And Blackburn are hardly likely to pull up any trees. Benjy has Massive FC going down.....Who'd have thunked it? With them charging fans £66 a pop, I hardly think Massive are going to be that massive. There's an opportunity for City to take some advantage. I like a bit of Schadenfreude on a Friday morning, though I gather BM are not keen to let him go.
The entire point of that was to mimic your previous post talking about people being glass half empty. Are you really that un-self-aware?
