There's a continual onslaught of 'if the club do this it's bad' ...

... but no praise when they don't do that thing.

We've had some real classics from 'if we sell Dan Neil' to 'if we sell Roberts' and many more.

It's as if people want to get a dig in before the club robs them of the chance.
I intimated this the other day with regards to the endless what its regards Stewart.
Now some pissy agent posts something about his client and everyone has changed horses from Stewart to Clarke, I know it's a chat forum but this endless what ifs is pointless.
I also agree we shouldn't be discussing Premiership transfers on here and especially not the scum who mean nothing to me.
it's frustrating thinking updates on here are new news stories about our club when most are not.

we don't even know if these bids have actually been offered or if it is all just social media 'lets-get-clicks' bollox, every player has a price and at some point the club will decide when the time is right, until then we can only wait...two good lads have been released by the club, both popular with the fans, players and staff but that is how it works unfortunately.

i may be wrong but i thought the club usually throws a list up of pre-season games by now on the safc.com site...anyone knows if/when it gets updated?

I've little interest in the PL games never mind gossip about signings and what foreign clubs are up to.

This is my thought as well in that it is paper talk.

Biggest issue with selling Jacky or Roberts is that you cannot improve on them at this level.

Not without spending what we get or more to do so, and somehow either finding an absolute gem from abroad or having someone drop from PL.

To sell Jacky now for anything less than a massive premium would put a question mark over how ambitious we are to reach the PL soon.

We can’t realistically replace like for like, let alone better.

Harte has done no wrong. Deals last summer were based on newly promoted. Established at the higher level it’s right they’d maybe feel they deserve a bit on top and the club will have factored this in.

The value is dependent on length of contract, how big a cog he is within the team and how much he would likely cost to replace.
He is probably our highest valued player in that basis imo.

20m is more like what we would be wanting

They'd rightfully find that hard to turn down and it wouldnt be a bad deal for the club imo although i really like watching clarke play for us - I wonder what the record fee paid is for an existing championship player - ie; not one from a PL relegated side like Maddison?

Does anyone know if the KLD twitter account is real?

3 hours ago he put up a tweet saying 'the reaction in the Sunderland board as the third bid for Jack Clarke slides across the table' and it was followed by a laughing gif.

The tweet was then deleted.

We also don't know that Burnley haven't made a bid and we've just said **** off. They wouldn't have a clue what our valuation is. There's no benefit in telling buying club how much we want especially when we are in no hurry to sell

Agreed mate, we should be telling them to stop calling unless it’s at least double the last offer.

£9m is an absolute piss take.
Yeah it’s stupid for sky sports to even state that figure

9 mill is a joke

There’s nothing to support Harte pushing him towards Burnley
There’s evidence of him saying ‘if clubs want to bid we can’t stop them and it might be accepted ‘ in the media which is a thinly veiled invitation to get busy. Sadly it’s what agents do in game ruined by tv money and we’ll be doing the same, but Harte will be pushing him away as it’s more lucrative for Harte.

He’s signed a 4 year contract so it doesn’t matter what Harte wants even if that was true. We have all of the power with Clarke.

On Roker Report, SB Nation they have an article about where we need to strengthen and I’ve copied and pasted a bit about Clarke.
Make of it what you will.

starts:

It’s been reported that we’d want in excess of £15 million for the winger, with Burnley currently offering £12 million. However, if the Clarets do decide to offer something close to our asking price, you’d imagine that our heads will be turned.

ends.
