Where would twine play? I thought he excelled in the number 10 role, but I’d probably play adama over him. Then we’ve got Tufan who’s best position is probably number 10 as well. He could play off the left but I was under the impression Liam wanted pacey wingers
Funny you should mention that I read recently that Roger Moore and Tony Curtis couldn't stand the sight of each other. That's nowt new, neither could the public.
My work mate honeymooned in Malta, same time they were shooting a Bond film there (I used to know which one) - Roger Moore and a lot of the cast were staying in the same hotel, during an evening meal RM found out from the waiting staff that my mate was on his honeymoon, he sent them over the most expensive bottle of champagne on the menu and later on came across and had a drink and chat with him and his wife - turns out he was a genuinely nice man with no airs and graces.
I thought Bernard was a little hectic at times but I'd much rather have him back over Bradley. A young right-footed centre-half as backup to Jones.
Wasn’t the best James Bond. Good bloke though and very self deprecating.,Always appreciated his good fortune. My favourite stout about him was when he was filming the Wild Geese with Richard Burton and Richard Harris. Much speculation about which of the hellraisers would drink the most, Burton or Harris. One night the three of them sat down with copious bottles of the strong stuff. The evening ended with Burton and Harris slumped under the table and Moore saying what an enjoyable night it had been. Next morning Burton and Harris were like death warmed up whilst Moore was first on the set, alert and ready to go. Moore could drink huge amounts with no signs of ill effects and it turns out those in the know said never to get involved in sessions with him.
I think people obsess over age a bit sometimes. Bradley isn't young, but he's a proven leader and winner at this level. DiShon Bernard is proven at League 2 level and was a bang average backup for us at the bottom end of this league when we were spending no money. To suggest he'd be a better signing is just bonkers.
We don't need another left-footed centre-half. We need another right-footed one if Figueiredo is going unless Andy Smith is given a chance. And Figueiredo was a proven leader and winner at this level and he was ****e.
Of course you're right about the left/right sided-split, but if Bradley is coming it's presumably because Greaves is going, in which case we do need a left sided one and he's probably a decent option. It's a separate issue to whether we sign a right-sided one. I think it's possible that Figueiredo might even stay as the backup right sided centre back. If we decide we do need a right-sider, I just don't know why on earth it would be Bernard. You're particularly critical of people pining after former players and I've no idea why Bernard would be the one to make an exception to your rule for.
He was pretty good when called upon, very good age and can also play right back. I think tactically wise it makes sense. Rosie likes the 3 centre backs and he could provide the versatility on the other side if we sign a more traditional left back Christie esque but left pegged.
I don't particularly want Bernard. I just think he'd make more sense than Bradley because we need another right-footer if Figueiredo goes much more than a third left-footer. I'd want Jan Paul van Hecke by preference.
