Transfer Rumours Summer '23 Transfer Thread

Brentford have paid in the region of £22m to turn Kevin Schade's loan spell into a permanent move. The 21-year-old, who has made two international appearances for Germany, has now signed a five-year contract with the Bees for a "club record fee".

The club's previous record signing was Keane Lewis-Potter, who joined from Hull last summer for £16m, potentially rising to £20m.

Wasn’t the best James Bond. Good bloke though and very self deprecating.,Always appreciated his good fortune. My favourite stout about him was when he was filming the Wild Geese with Richard Burton and Richard Harris. Much speculation about which of the hellraisers would drink the most, Burton or Harris. One night the three of them sat down with copious bottles of the strong stuff. The evening ended with Burton and Harris slumped under the table and Moore saying what an enjoyable night it had been. Next morning Burton and Harris were like death warmed up whilst Moore was first on the set, alert and ready to go. Moore could drink huge amounts with no signs of ill effects and it turns out those in the know said never to get involved in sessions with him.
Brilliant

He was though…

Some Turkish fella on Facebook is claiming that İrfan Kahveci is eaving Fenerbahce and Acum wants him at City.

He's a central midfielder who has 24 caps for Turkey, but he was a first team player for Fenerbahce last season and cost them a fair few quid, so it's probably rubbish.

Was a name mentioned a few weeks ago by some Turkish papers. Pinch of salt and all that.

My work mate honeymooned in Malta, same time they were shooting a Bond film there (I used to know which one) - Roger Moore and a lot of the cast were staying in the same hotel, during an evening meal RM found out from the waiting staff that my mate was on his honeymoon, he sent them over the most expensive bottle of champagne on the menu and later on came across and had a drink and chat with him and his wife - turns out he was a genuinely nice man with no airs and graces.
Similar experience vacationing in Corfu in 1980. They were filming For Your Eyes Only in which Moore played Bond. Saw lots of scenes being filmed around the island-gun chases down curvy roads and a set on a beach that had a house in the middle of nowhere with no rear. Used to go to a BBQ joint in Pirgi for dinner most nights during our 14 day stay and was particularly looking forward to it for our last night, but, turned out that the joint was taken over by the cast etc of the movie. So no expensive bottle of Champers from Roger for my wife, I and 2 kids!

But does Rosie want him ? Or has Acun not learned the lessons of last summer's transfer window?
Not saying he's a player we don't want - he might be great for all I know - just the principle of the thing

The problem last summer was more the manager appointment than the players we brought in, and that lesson was learned after a few months. Oscar, Tetteh, Tufan, Seri, Adama, Christie etc massively improved us. I think bringing in a better calibre of player, even despite the injuries we've had, has helped some of the other lads up their game as well. Some of the other players we were after last summer would have improved us further if we'd landed them. Even Simons seems to have ended up a decent signing considering he was one of the Chelsea loanees. You surely can't think Shota's wishlist would have been better than what Acun brought in?

I'm honestly hoping Acun can put a couple of other targets in front of Rosenior this summer, get his blessing on them and bring them to the club. I don't want to judge Rosenior yet, but so far we're looking at Darlow, Connolly, Ebiowei and probably Bradley. Darlow was brilliant, Connolly we can't really judge but he looked good when he played, Ebiowei was shocking and although I think Bradley could be quite an astute signing, there's a lot of people seemingly perplexed by it.

Looks like we might be getting that Imfran Can Kachevi, his wife popped this on Instagram (saying bye to the club) and Tufan’s mrs has commented on it.
