Bloody hell man settle down, it wasn't a dig at the club at all. I mean as he's a younger less experienced manager he represents better value for money than some of the plodders out there come asking for a king's ransom. And how in the hell is the club getting a good deal a bad thing anyway? I would consider Dennis Cirkin and Ross Stewart to be cheap, doesn't mean they're not ****ing class at football

Ooops. Then I apologise for my mistake.

I am not really buying this. Neither the fact we are looking for a new head coach for next season, nor that this fella would be on our shortlist.

Lets say Mowbray only wanted do a year, which I cant see the logic for personally, I reckon he has thoroughly enjoyed this season. As a coach all you ever want is lads who listen and a freedom to coach your way. He has that, he has won everyone over, why would he not want to stay. He isnt an old fella yet, in fact he looks fit as a lop to me. He is working on his doorstep and he is at a club that seems to have the same ethos as he does. If the club only wanted a year becauss they wanted time to get the next De Zerbi lined up, they would be barmy to stick with that plan after what Mowbray has achieved, and the manner in which he has done it.

I doubt this fella is on any shortlist. I could possibly see it if Mowbray had done an ok job and we were mid-table. Now though we have seen what this group can achieve with half a side out. We have seen the style of play Mowbray can dish up. If someone were to follow Mowbray next season it would need someine with a better track record and arguably style of play than this lad. It could be a case of after the lord mayors show for whoever is next. Might sound stupid to suggest this but for me if Mowbray does decide to step away for some reason we are going to need a real upgrade on him, and that isnt a bright young thing from Italy, because he has worked with De Zerbi. Mowbray has probably forgotten more about coaching and management. We would be in the territory of needing a Potter or a Stephan, or even a Villas-Boas (tin hat, but get past his chelsea/spurs days, and look at the porto / marseille stuff, ooh Marseille, do we have any other marseille links?).

Anyway, all I want is promotion and Mowbray taking these young lads all guns blazing into the prem

There's not a chance that we're getting anywhere near a manager of the calibre of Potter or Villas-Boas and they wouldn't fit our current profile at all.

If it is true, probably the most stupid announcement I’ve heard since I started supporting the club, that’s the reason I’m convinced it’s bullshit.

I like you Rooch, but "The piss talking party stops here" is the most stupid announcement the club have ever put out.

Well it turned out to be, but after everything I for one lapped that **** up! <laugh> I hope I wasn't the only mug who believed their bullshit (admittedly it was all because of how bad things had got I was hoping for the best and chucked all sense out the window!)

If he's an upgrade on TM, bring him in.

We need to keep upgrading our players AND staff. That's how we'll keep progressing. Nobody minds us bringing in new players to replace what we have if they're upgrades and improve the playing side.

Why should it be any different with a manager?

I think that’s a bit disrespectful to TM and the job he’s done.

TM has played some of the best football I’ve seen us play in 20 years, he’s connected the players with the fans and gets the club and the city. I understand he will leave at some point as all managers do, but at this current time that should be his choice only.

Also if you’re replacing managers when they are over achieving, you are making it very difficult for the manager coming in.

No room for sentiment, I'm afraid.

We are happy to replace players if the playing side will be improved. Why should it be any different with managers?

Mowbray's record shows that where we are in the league is where he usually has teams. His record of going further isn't good. If the board believe this is peak Mowbray and the data shows another manager could kick us on again, I'm all for it.

I agree its slightly brutal, but that's the winning mentality I want to see from the club.

Announced before the last two games of the season where we could be promoted to the premiership, got to be the most stupid announcement ever. That’s why I think it’s bull ****.

I don’t think somebody could do a better job than Mowbray at the moment.

Not only is he developing our youngsters in a brilliant fashion, he’s in the playoff spots with massively influential players out injured. If someone could do better than that I’ll be godsmacked, especially a 34 year old with very little experience and none in England.

If the club want to keep evolving, that’s great but there are right and wrong times to replace managers, and in my opinion this would be the wrong time.

He deserves a crack next season, whatever league we are in. If by some miracle he gets us promoted I’d want him leading us in the premier league, he deserves that and so do the fans. Only in my opinion of course.

Nothing has been announced. It's just a rumour from a journalist, at the moment.

Exactly. It's probably just us getting info and building data to keep tabs on emerging talent.....we've likely done it with loads of people, players and coaches alike.

MIND GAMES ! Perhaps we are over achieving so outsiders may be trying to upset the applecart , cause some unrest and trouble with the players and take their minds off what we are trying to achieve . We need to have a siege mentality to protect our young squad and this has to come from KLD and Management as well as the senior players and put an end to what is Fake News .

I find this leak a bit strange. When we've signed players under Speakman and KLD there's hardly been a whisper but this has come out in the press abroad. I'll take it with a pinch of salt but after the season we've had Mowbray deserves to be here next season

Mowbray was at our early games before the snake left, I think he was being lined up as the academy manager, but then was in pole position to take the job. People pissing their pants about a journalist leaking this, why? We should be looking at all areas to improve, do some people really think the players will lose sleep over who is coaching them next season?

Don’t think anyone is “pissing their pants” like, it just came out of the blue that’s all and the timing was a bit odd.

It’s the part of the season where journalists make all sorts of **** up and I’m sure this is one of them. I’ve got full trust in the owners anyway.

People are pissing their pants or have you not read this whole thread? and this journalist is right a lot of the time, why wouldnt the journalist release it if he heard it? Its not like the club have done it
