It's a tough one. TM has worked wonders no doubt, but everything I've read about this guy indicates he's the real deal. Would we want to miss out on potentially the next De Zerbi due to a sentimental attachment to TM? With the way the club is run now, I'm not so sure.

Besides, it may be that there's an agreement between the club and Mowbray that he'd only ever be in charge for one year. Maybe we've had our sights set on Farioli since Neil was since in charge and Mowbray came in knowing full well he was effectively an interim until this summer. Maybe he's agreed a move "upstairs". **** knows, but whichever way the club decide to go, I will trust them 100%. They've got just about every other decision up til now right.

Couldn't agree more with this. No one knows how much truth there is to this rumour but it seems to me like it's a perfect match if it did happen.

How all this **** is coming out just before our biggest game of the season is beyond me. I don’t get caught up on the hype of a foreign coach than he is better than we got. We have the real deal in place now. Look at Leeds sacking their real deal guy in favor of BSA. TM is a miracle worker for what he has done this season. If someone had told me going into the last game in 7th position I would have thought we would have been 7th bottom fighting off relegation. Now we are basically one win from the play offs. Just unbelievable. TM for me. Onward and upwards…HTL!!!

I'm all for Mowbray as long as he keeps doing what he's doing he deserves that. however things can go wrong quite quickly so if it does the club needs to ready to bring the right replacement in so that we avoid the catastrophic events we had with the Keane/ Neil saga

In other news, lad over the road reckons Stewart will be signing for Stoke. ****ing hell on if we let him go there mind. I for one will be absolutely livid.

I'd assume Farioli is just top of our watch list in case Mowbray "does a Neil". Good to know the club have plans in place.

I don't know, it doesn't seem like anybody knows anything about our transfer business before it happens these days, so I assume that's also the case for managerial changes. Probably even more so because it's higher level.

I think it's probably bollocks and it's either the guy getting his name out there or, less likely, one of our rivals being naughty and leaking a fake story. The timing of it is bloody awful either way and not something we've seen (leaked) from the club since Dreyfus took over.

If he thinks Stoke is a better option than us then he can jog on.

I love him to bits but we will replace him if he goes.

Signing a player who has had 2 long term injuries lately, it is a risk

Stoke fan I know heard he’d agreed deal with Stoke this week and they’re now negotiating fee with us.

for all I know he’s taken this from smb himself so take with pinch of salt

My one caveat to that is I don’t know why Ross and his agent would be agreeing anything with anyone whilst there’s a chance he becomes a premier league player with us by the end of the month

My other caveat the other way is that if we take off the optimistic goggles, there’s no way these negotiations go on this long if he’s signing.

he will be going to the highest bidder and it’s clear as day. I’m just surprised he’d be choosing which bidders to listen to before he knows what division we are in

mind you whilst I think he’d do a job in the prem - if we did pull off the promotion I’d be more than happy to be rid of anybody who fancies a pay rise elsewhere. Especially if they’re willing to drop a division to get it

He will get a cracking deal at Stoke. I'm sure there was a Stokie over on RTG saying they were going to be able to pay big money again due to something or other. Can't remember what it was, I wasn't paying much attention tbh.

If he goes then he goes, same as any of the players. Our recruitment and scouting is in a much better place to replace him compared to when he signed.

I can’t remember the details but they’re now able to start spending the ridiculous amounts of money they have
