Well, they showed were out of their depth and could do it in league one so why would you think they could be successful the Championship????
Mowbray would take this set of lads backwards IF he got the job...Thankfully, i understand that will not be the case.
Rubbish, its Speakman who is the problem. The manager who was going to be appointed wanted the same as it appears AN now wanted..Control of players.
He's a dinosaur, one of the reason Blackburn binned him,, look at and read the papers down there. Blackburn ended up with a fresh approach with new coaching ideas which is why JDT was appointed.
Roy Keane would have been a disaster. We got lucky at the time that it fell through. I don't believe for a second we would have been promoted with Keane in charge.
I thought he came across well on the video interview, I was more angry at the Sky TV shot of him in the stands eating a packet of nuts and laughing and joking, while the rest of us were still reeling from Fridays events ,
Just a thought, but it's been mentioned that Neil hadn't been backed by the club with transfers. So essentially saying the current squad aren't good enough and he needs better. Hardly a great morale boost to the squad is it?
One way to look at it is Neil chose no players last year but he coached the ones chosen for him to promotion. Maybe he needs to have a bit more trust in those staff on the same team as he signed up to be a part of to pick players this time around. We have hardly looked out of our depth so far.
or perhaps AN was the problem by lying to the club from day 1 by saying he was happy to work under our DoF model when he quite clearly wasnt Tbh having seen the rubbish our managers have generally bought for last I dont know how many years Im more that happy for the facility to be removed from them
And he also had a day in who has been signed this year. I'm struggling with the not being backed arguement to be honest
Was just thinking along these lines as ive been reading through posts....obviously something in Mowbray as ges been at game & AOL, maybe we have learned how the Neil appointment dragged on & nearky cost us, so maybe we want Mowbray in asap take charge of next 3/4/5 games or whatever whike we get the right man at which point Mowbray steps into the background in another role....if this is the case we may come out stronger from tgis mess. we have to look forward, get players in & off we go again KTF
Nope, it will be like the Neil appointment. He was hammered for it initially but by the time we were promoted he'd ha nothing to do with it, he was lucky that Neil came along to save his skin...
Aye, as I’ve said few times over last couple days his recruitment on the playing side has been superb. We haven’t bought a lemon yet. Couple were signed for League One KD did their jobs to that end, the ones playing in the Championship not only look good enough, they look comfortable future PL players. He’s done brilliant on the playing side. Jury is well out on the other elements.
thats Harvey. Speakman oversees it. I wouldn’t be removing him entirely from the process, just bringing in Mowbray as the liaison between recruitment and first team. So there’s continuity that allows the head coach to coach
Interesting thought process maybe something in it or how about AN was told mowbray would be his new Boss and thought time was right to jump even though he's agreed to new terms..totally made up idea of course but hey oh we'll find out soon enough.
