What does end of season actually mean? If we stayed up...mid table...he would end up being our manager moving forward. Sorry like but that would deflate me. Yes safe hands short term etc...surely there is someone else out there more progressive. KLD, New model, youth...Mowbray?...
Look at his squad at blackburn, it’s really similar to ours in terms of age. He brought through youth players and developed young players that were brought in. I’d argue he fits the model

I didn't mention this at the time, didn't want to rain on the parade.

When we went up the steps, at Wembley, the players and manager were laughing it up and shaking hands with the KLD and the Sunderland contingent.

Neil virtually ignored KLD and turned his back. I 'bookmarked' it in my mind but ignored it hoping it was nothing.

It now seems there's been a problem simmering away behind the scenes from the start ...

.... and if I had to choose between KLD and Neil our chairman would get my vote every time.

He's been dignified and classy from the moment he took over, Neil could learn quite a lot from him tbh. I remember KLD saying, when he first arrived, that he'd been reluctant to get involved because 'football is a rotten business' Alex Neil is as clear a reminder as you'll ever find.

I hope you somehow get to see this post, Mr Neil, you're a man without the slightest grasp of the things you claim mean so much to you

End of season means end of the current season in my eyes. So contract till June 2023.

thing i found with the smoggies, we have a wee bit of a rivalry of sorts but they can take a joke and give it back whilst keeping it all within the boundaries of 'friendly banter' unlike those rancid feckers up the road who have zero banter but stray well away from the 'friendly stuff' in an attempt to 'win'
I have more boro friends than I do mags, I don’t mind boro at all I worked there in the early 90s they are sound

Why get a manager till the end of the season...then get another manager...
Shouldn't we go for a manager for the long-term now? I'm totally confused. I know the shelf life of a manager is at an all time low but I wish we could go for someone younger. Look at Ipswich...McKenna doing a great job there.
People are saying 'til the end of the season' like there's 5 games left.....there's 40! 40 games is not a stop gap

I worked in doxy with a 50/25/25 split of mackems, geordies and smogs. Various offices had closed, the Sunderland one stayed open and they all relocated. The smogs are a different breed, like. Nowt wrong with them, some great lads, but they're different. All the natural misery of a Yorkshireman mixed with the fck it attitude of the NE. My take on them anyway.

So has Mowbray been confirmed till the end of the season ? I’m away on nightshift and not a lot of time to catch up with things

No nothing confirmed. He was seen at the AoL earlier and I think at the game but apart from that it seems to be a lot of people jumping to conclusions.

It has been said on sky sports

Yeah I know but where are they getting the info from? Did Speakman casually say yeah we're getting Tony in until the end of the season to a journalist? I doubt it. Far as I can tell it's based on him being at the game and nothing else.

Apparently he was at the AOL and seen at the SOL today so people putting two and two together.

If it is going to be him I hope they are quick enough to announce it before Stoke announce Neil. <laugh>

I’m not ITK but i do have someone close to me that works at the club ( who never really tells me anything) but they have said to me today that this is all down to Speakman, and he’s not liked by the players either.
