Done with it now mate. Made my feelings known.

yeh I’m just saying if you use your “done with it” post to have a veiled dig at the people who don’t agree with your view that Alex Neil is a saint and Speakman the devil, you should expect a reply.

Way way way too much people trying to be divisive within our own fanbase here and it’s doing my tits in. Fans have a right to be pissed off at a manager who walks out the day before a game, no matter the circumstance.

We seem to have a camp who are 100% it’s all Speakman and another who are 100% it’s all Neil. And the answer is so very clearly in the middle somewhere. And frankly it’s becoming tiring being told by other supporters which way it should be.

edit just as a PS - talking about the SAFC twittersphere here - not just you. It’s just starting to feel like nobody’s allowed an opinion which is in the middle without being made to feel like they’re stupid by one or both sides

There is not dig in my reply TBH mate. Not sure how you could see it that way. .

I’m in the toxic Neil is a **** camp

Really struggling with everyone’s views here that it’s binary - one or the other.

Speakman has to (and will) take a lot of the blame for this. It’s the view that it’s entirely the clubs fault and Alex Neil has done nothing wrong which will grate on a lot of people.
Alex Neil has been the main protagonist in this. He has pushed for something and failed to get his way over recent times. Whether Speakman could have granted him his wishes or not I dont know, but it would seem counter to how any reasonable organisation is run. Remember Speakman has a boss too, to think he has complete control seems very naieve. If Alex Neil had any decency he would have behaved differently in my opinion, but I am sure he will think he is more suited to Stoke City than us. All about opinions as always. Shame he wont be regarded with any fondness here after the job he has done.

Just seen this news. I'm trying to organise moving out of Melbourne to be a ****ing hillbilly in the foothills of the Australian Alps so I don't have the heads pace for the disaster that is Sunderland.

I'd suggest this whole thing is an uncomfortable kick in thr teeth and nothing worse. There is better out there.

it is somewhat amusing that 6 months ago a decent chunk of fans were disappointed with Neil as a boring appointment. I think we have to remember how far we have come in that time.

what hurts is that that progress is (in my opinion) almost entirely down to him.

All the other good progress we’ve made is completely intangible stuff. The only thing that matters, at all, is results. And he brought us those

I’ll add I’m also trying not to have a dig at you. I’m just emotional and tired and frustrated. And spent too long looking at safc fans arguing in Twitter in the last hour

To be fair why other camp is there to be in, all this the club hasn't done enough to keep him is rubbish, if he wanted to be here he would still be here, the biggest club he will ever manage

my point is there doesn’t need to be any camps at all.

I agree that our progress is thanks to Neil, he did a brilliant job of getting the most out of us and installing a winning mentality. Seems like he did such a good job of it that he can randomly **** off and still leave that mentality behind.

I know we didn't win today but we certainly looked like we wanted to.

There’s loads to dwell on and at first I blamed the club, now I’m leaning towards blaming Neil and thinking he’s ****ed us right over… However, the club has a lack of ambition currently IMO.

I can't get on board with the anti Speakman stuff. We've come on as a team and a club hugely since he's been around. Yes mistakes have been made but that's all part of the rollercoaster. The general trajectory is still upwards and I'd be very surprised if we don't finish in the top 10. We're a club on the up but that doesn't mean back to back promotions and that doesn't matter. If the appointment is Mowbray then so be it. He will deliver top 10. I think I'd prefer Mark Robbins but we won't get him in quickly - so many people saying including Gary Bennet that we need a head coach in by Wednesday so who's available to come in that quickly? If we want a quick appointment it will inevitability be someone like Mowbray but he'll be good enough this season.

The club offered improved terms and he turned it down. They offered him better terms again and he's decided to jump ship.

Remind me how the manager walking is his fault?

6 months ago he was in a position where nearly EVERYONE wanted Roy. Roy pulled out and AN was appointed within about 4 or 5 days.

You seem to know a lot.

Fair enough, I don't know all of these details.

Trust Speakman by all means . I don't.

I wanted Liam Manning, Neil Critchley, Russell Martin or Leam Richardson, but if it is to be Mowbray I guess I'll have to get behind him. Not an exciting appointment, and he might be dull and boring. However, after the roller-coaster we've had over the recent years, maybe a season of dull, boring safety will be nice come May.

Well we've got out of league one.
Thanks in part to Alex Neil but also to a recruitment structure imo.
Neil could of gone down in history for us, maybe. But now he's took a purse for possible mediocrity.

He said/she said blah blah is going on but it's not worth falling out over. We're all entitled to our views, and its interesting and funny to read them. But don't fall out over it.
Get behind Tony mowbray and move on.
I'm pìssed off after spending years in league one then finally getting somewhere. But I realise it wasn't just AN that got us here.
If Tony smoggy can stabilise us for now then fine. Who knows what may happen.
Roy Keane ? <laugh>

Seriously, we are improving, and as long as that carries on I couldn't give a fook who's in charge.

Except for dickhead Barton, but thats never gonna happen.
