rather strange this mind, it would seem that AN was in touch about the stoke job before it broke/leaked and everywhere is fully convinced the deal is all done and dusted yet still no word from either club, are they now going to wait to 'officially' declare it to try to make i tlook as if all proper protocol was followed because i certainly will not believe it, also, better for both clubs to just make that statement and we can all move on. mowbray...not sure what to make of it in all honesty should he get the job, not entirely against it as he has genuine experience and while he never seem to go for 'exciting football' he certainly gets results and seems to get the best out of players, till the end of the season could make good sense, stabalise us in this league while sounding out potential candidates.
let's just say Mowbray becomes the manager and we start doing well, can we at least float the idea of his chant being to the tune of the Proclaimers 500 miles? Some will read this and even if its in your head, you'll do it.
I heard his 5 aside team beat Speakmans 5 aside team and just before he left, Speakman shyly and underhanded pulled him to one side and said "can I have a word".... no wait, that was at the 365 last week.
I've always thought Mowbray is boring. Can't actually believe that we are going for him. The whole club ethos is about youth and being progressive. I don't get it.
He has a good record with young players mate. He has had Blackburn playing some good stuff. 433 seems to be his thing and I think we will continue to see the pressing game. Who knows mate, might be a good next level coach who moves us on again. I am not against it by any means. Just hope those banging on about his Middlesborough history get over that if he comes in.
Said that from the outset but has found the money to allow Speakman to make some astute signings , probably not signings Neil wanted but a plan is a plan it’s just not that we are used to plans in recent years and Neil was isolated hence why he has hatched an exit plan .
It’s not a real derby seems to be the consensus so surely follows that it’s not a big deal? Think we’ll get past that quite quickly. Style of play is set by the club, the Sunderland ‘DNA’ that’s bandied about. Mowbray’s job is to come in and coach to a defined model so I’m not concerned about it. The recruitment is all set up to bring in players that fit the model, coach is no different.
What does end of season actually mean? If we stayed up...mid table...he would end up being our manager moving forward. Sorry like but that would deflate me. Yes safe hands short term etc...surely there is someone else out there more progressive. KLD, New model, youth...Mowbray?...
thing i found with the smoggies, we have a wee bit of a rivalry of sorts but they can take a joke and give it back whilst keeping it all within the boundaries of 'friendly banter' unlike those rancid feckers up the road who have zero banter but stray well away from the 'friendly stuff' in an attempt to 'win'
All day long ,must be someone better out there. Changing manager again in a few months time is not what we need. I personally don’t think Mowbray is the answer but hope I’m proved wrong.
