Lucky like he did with Neil? No. He will have got lucky...

Well, they showed were out of their depth and could do it in league one so why would you think they could be successful the Championship????Neither of whom managed us in the championship, thus rendering your argument redundant
Yes. He wanted the wrong guy. Thankfully that guy didn't come and he ended up with Neil.Lucky like he did with Neil?
He's quite a lucky bloke thenYes. He wanted the wrong guy. Thankfully that guy didn't come and he ended up with Neil.
Mowbray would take this set of lads backwards IF he got the job...Thankfully, i understand that will not be the case. What is he appoints Mowbray and we continue the good form?
Do we praise him?

Rubbish, its Speakman who is the problem. The manager who was going to be appointed wanted the same as it appears AN now wanted..Control of players.Yes. He wanted the wrong guy. Thankfully that guy didn't come and he ended up with Neil.
He's a dinosaur, one of the reason Blackburn binned him,, look at and read the papers down there. Blackburn ended up with a fresh approach with new coaching ideas which is why JDT was appointed. Why would he take them backwards?
Roy Keane would have been a disaster. We got lucky at the time that it fell through. I don't believe for a second we would have been promoted with Keane in charge.Rubbish, its Speakman who is the problem. I thought he came across well on the video interview, I was more angry at the Sky TV shot of him in the stands eating a packet of nuts and laughing and joking, while the rest of us were still reeling from Fridays eventsHe just felt a bit smug to me, like as if he wasn’t arsed and knew best.
Ill watch again I watched it early doors this morning and was hungover tae ****.
All he said means nowt if it’s Mowbray.
,One way to look at it is Neil chose no players last year but he coached the ones chosen for him to promotion. Maybe he needs to have a bit more trust in those staff on the same team as he signed up to be a part of to pick players this time around. We have hardly looked out of our depth so far.Just a thought, but it's been mentioned that Neil hadn't been backed by the club with transfers.
So essentially saying the current squad aren't good enough and he needs better. Hardly a great morale boost to the squad is it?
or perhaps AN was the problem by lying to the club from day 1 by saying he was happy to work under our DoF model when he quite clearly wasntRubbish, its Speakman who is the problem. The manager who was going to be appointed wanted the same as it appears AN now wanted..Control of players.
And he also had a day in who has been signed this year. One way to look at it is Neil chose no players last year but he coached the ones chosen for him to promotion. Devils advocate here.
What if KLD and Speakman have collectively decided Speakman is out of his comfort zone with first team stuff - and so Mowbray would come in as Director of Football - focusing on first team and recruitment (but under the same philosophy).
Speakman remains as technical director - looking after academy, coaching quality, youth recruitment, data and analysis etc
I know football manager is just football manager - but KLD is a massive FM fan. And on FM that’s what those roles do. And it always seemed weird that Speakman was “Technical Director” and not “Director of Football”
And it would work in so many ways. Mowbray and Harvey already operate hand in glove. And Speakman gets to stay and do what he’s best at, which I think is important considering the club seems to be built to his vision
Has Speakman not been pretty successful in recruitment? Why would you want him removed from it?Devils advocate here.

Nope, it will be like the Neil appointment. He was hammered for it initially but by the time we were promoted he'd ha nothing to do with it, he was lucky that Neil came along to save his skin...What if he appoints Mowbray and we continue the good form?
Do we praise him?

Was just thinking along these lines as ive been reading through posts....obviously something in Mowbray as ges been at game & AOL, maybe we have learned how the Neil appointment dragged on & nearky cost us, so maybe we want Mowbray in asap take charge of next 3/4/5 games or whatever whike we get the right man at which point Mowbray steps into the background in another role....if this is the case we may come out stronger from tgis mess.
we have to look forward, get players in & off we go again KTF
