Its. a pity there are no local covenants in place which forces landlords to maintain a property to the standards set by the local authority or be open to compulsory purchase orders at knock down prices.

Scotland Street School Glasgow,Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed architectural masterpiece which is now a museum.

I advise anyone coming to Glasgow to go and have a look, easy access by subway too.

Yes,the House of Fraser building is fairly unique as a shopping spectacle.Buchanan St is pretty upmarket and Buchanan galleries has some nice shops in it too.

Argyle St and Sauchiehall St were both renowned as popular shopping Streets but sadly they are in demise nowadays.

It's been discussed before but online shopping has destroyed City Centres up and down the Country.

We went to the Hill House at Helensburgh in the summer, which for those who don't know is a house designed by Mackintosh. Stunning interior and fascinating exterior encased in a shell of chainmail to protect it from the weather. I couldn't recommend it highly enough and my daughter absolutely loved it (and blamed the builders rather than Mackintosh's design for it not being waterproof - these architects have to stick together)

It's on my list - I saw the Mackintosh House at the university a good few years ago, and loved it. On CRM matters, The Willow Tea rooms on Sauchiehall St used to do a fab breakfast too.

You'll see plenty of interior photos online, and it is beautiful, but this has to be seen to be believed. Some people hate it, but I thought it was fascinating in terms of getting up close and personal with all of the detail outside.

You've put the mockers on Buchanan Galleries DBT...The plans have been drawn up for it's demolition.
Don't suppose you were in M&S Sauchiehall St too..That's closing too!!

For anyone that loves to see and hear about the history of Hull, you could do far worse than experience one of Mike Covells guided tours.

He's passionate about Hull and its history, and certainly knows his stuff.

It sounds like some form of voodoo? I think he's been sticking pins in a scale model of Glasgow City Centre
