So it’s a player who was recently under investigation for texting an under 16 and charges have now been dropped? If the charges have been dropped, I don’t see why there’s an issue. I’d happily have ached Evans on firm here and he was locked up for rape. Why is this different? Unless I’m missing something

Potentially drags us through the mud again and brings the club in to the spot light for all the wrong reasons. Having had to explain to my son that his hero was going to jail for his behaviour with a young girl and the damage the club and more importantly the family of that girl experienced this signing is hugely questionable and disappointing should it happen. Clearly the investigation has not found “ criminality” so there is a difference but having a player that allegedly asks 16 year old girls for dubious photos of a sexually explicit nature is a line I don’t want to cross on moral and ethical grounds regardless of ability. I hope he sorts himself out and recovers from the mental health difficulties he’s experienced but that shouldn’t be with us.
Bloody Hell, criminal activity or not, with the club's reputation still tarnished over the Adam Johnson case this is the last player in the world that we need.

On the subject of Griffiths there’s little doubt in terms of ability he’d be a coup at this level. However in terms of his attitude and the sort of man he is… let’s just say I don’t want people like him representing the football club I support.

He is a peice of ****. Lots of stuff going on. A bad egg. Most people in football know the type of person he is.

Safc have standards and the new regime have done a lot right. If the loan falls through and we go to this lad instead , I won't be happy.

On the face of it Rafferty seems a good signing. Left back but can play right back. Played for Rochdale in this league and impressed enough for Preston to pay a fee and give him a 3 year deal.

Played regularly season before last but seemingly not at all last year?

feels like another money ball scenario @Prehab26

Yep. It's basically what they are doing now. Using a massive data analysis to look for players who have shown over the years they can do it but for whatever reason it's not working presently. Get them into a new environment and the talent will be there.

I get it. However, with Griff they can do one.

Think Rafferty gets done mate?

It’s risky as hell mind. Really thought the data analysis would be loads more sophisticated than this and use current performance metrics rather than essentially look for players that aren’t playing football any more :D

It is. It's using all the performance metrics possible but then looking at why the current environment is not allowing for performance to be implemented.

Oh I see. Understood.

Hope (and trust) the medical process has been made even more rigorous though to validate these.
