That’s not even worst case scenario. Worst case is he signs and can’t hit a barn door and ends up being a relatively expensive PR blunder in several ways.

his goal record in last 3 years aren’t so much of a concern as it’s at a higher level. Even the “personal problems” aren’t a concern if he struggled with mental health. Coming to us and becoming a hero could have really helped him as a person in both regards.

Unfortunately he will never be that hero. Whether what he did was calculated and malicious or a genuine mistake, it’s too late.
 
so...what have we got so far....a bloke that asked a 16 year old (not great but not under-age) for pics and she was wise enough to not send any...some fairly lame accusations from little miss fake as hell rich kid who has ties to at least two other scottish clubs, one of those being rangers and no charges brought so basically an innocent-ish bloke (apparently the request for pics is genuine).

apart from that, his girlfriend scares me and she is as fake as the neighbour.

i'm out.

he’s innocent in that he never ended up receiving child pornography. I guess we will never know if he was hoping to receive some.

But being criminally innocent isn’t really where I’d like my club to hold its standards.

was trying to be a wee bit tongue in cheek mind...after AJ i dont want anymore with baggage, sorry...also, if it was just some strange 'one off' thing then i might be ok but he seems to make a habit of things not quite being right so who knows what else could surface?

you would think him asking a kid for photos, it wouldn't of been dropped mine, so if it's true the system is ****ed should of been charged and never been able to kick a football again at a professional level

Think the photo request was to a 16 year old so massively dubious but not criminal so can’t be charged. Presumably the other texts weren’t of a potentially criminal nature. Dodgy and morally dubious enough to rule him out as an option for me.

This is a hard one to decided on the limited story we have so far, not sure about the story with him and the cops as they dont like dropping things, whilst the guy doesn't seem an angel, im wondering if this was a honey trap, as the lass being a different club supporter, a lot of unanswered questions and something doesn't smell right, a loan to us could work, i suppose he will be gagged to tell his story
why did she contacted him which she must have done
did she pretend to be older?
there was mention of other texts which were perfectly normal

I always like to give people the benefit of the doubt, from memory this came up at Hibs a few years ago as well though

Apparently she has said herself that he didnt know her age and she never told him.
She could have been in her 20's for all he knew, but should have been more carefull and professional

Potentially drags us through the mud again and brings the club in to the spot light for all the wrong reasons. Having had to explain to my son that his hero was going to jail for his behaviour with a young girl and the damage the club and more importantly the family of that girl experienced this signing is hugely questionable and disappointing should it happen. Clearly the investigation has not found “ criminality” so there is a difference but having a player that allegedly asks 16 year old girls for dubious photos of a sexually explicit nature is a line I don’t want to cross on moral and ethical grounds regardless of ability. I hope he sorts himself out and recovers from the mental health difficulties he’s experienced but that shouldn’t be with us.

I dunno, have an early night, and this happens.

Should be a case of once bitten, twice shy. But, this is a new regime who weren't at the club last time.

Hopefully data only shows them targets but common sense prevails.

Hope that we get whoever the first choice loan is.
Staggering that we are considering Griffiths with that baggage and the AJ history.
Please God no.
