Parkinson should have gone after the Bristol Rovers game last season. He is a one dimensional dinosaur who will not take us up.

yes, but we don’t know much.

“Phil has a proven track record when it comes to achieving promotion and I’m delighted to welcome him to Sunderland.
“During a rigorous recruitment process, it gradually became clear that he was the prime candidate to take the club forward. His CV put him on our shortlist. His references from within the game set him apart.”

And wot the man himself said.

“It’s now up to me to build on the work of my predecessor and deliver the success the fans are so desperate for. This is a good squad of players, and I relish the challenge of working with them to achieve our goal of promotion from League One.”

A 36.76% career win rate over almost 800 games, the vast majority being in leagues 1 and 2

A 36.36% win rate after 33 games here in league 1.

We appointed a cheap, easy option with a below average record. We’re getting the results that appointment deserves

The great thing about facts mate, is they are facts.

Your post nails why he shouldn’t ever have been considered.

I agree in the most part that this squad should get us up Magnus but what I can’t fathom out is we don’t seem to have sorted the keeper position out when we’ve had plenty time to. Burge looked awful yesterday and if Matthews is behind him why was he brought in?
Also we never seem to address the lack of pace up front.
For a club of our stature in this league, these positions should be of paramount importance, as is CM. A good recruitment in those areas would pretty much guarantee the top two finish we need
I'd like that post twice if I could. Bang on.

Need a better goalkeeper to command the area. The defence looked shaky as ****.

Seeing Parkinson bring in Remi Matthews doesn't give me any confidence either. In Parkinson or having a steady keeper.

I'd start Graham up front, maybe with Grigg off him. He'd give the opposing defence a harder time and is probably the best at holding the ball up.

That’s the problem with certain managers. They always sign the same players they have managed (and usually failed with) when they get their next job. They then go on to fail again. And again. And again.

Facts don’t have context. Spoke to a Bradford fan in my street who loved Parkinson.

33% over 800 games doesn’t need context mate.

He did some great bits at Bradford, 2 cup semi and a final which was crazy, so there’s bound to be affection.

Poyet took us to Wembley, so there’s affection there, but we were **** under him overall.

Cannot argue with this.
